Smith is a player that we wish we’d seen more of, rather it being in club ball, showcase, or just getting out to during the season, as he brings a ton of intangibles to the game that stick. He has good size and uses his length to his advantage, and at Colorado Live, he was causing issues to opposing teams. Smith was active on the glass and kept giving his team second-chance points by just being at the right spot and going up. What I appreciated most was the decision-making from the high post. He got the ball on a few occasions and recognized cutters, made simple reads out of the post, and understood when to keep the ball moving instead of forcing difficult shots. He also got out and dunked, made trips to the FT line, and worked the mid-range, and is a player who can turn a few heads this season. Somethings gotta pop for him heading into a big senior year, and Colorado Live was the first look at it.

Smith is one of the more exciting athletes to watch and has the ability to change the momentum of a game with his energy and explosiveness. The Broomfield standout is a highly active, aggressive high flier who can put on a show on both ends of the floor. His athleticism has consistently stood out dating back to last season and throughout the spring, and he has shown he can handle pressure while stepping up in big moments for his team. Smith averaged 11 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, but those numbers only tell part of the story of his impact. Heading into this season continued development as a scorer and playmaker could unlock another level in his game. If he continues to build on his skill set, Smith has all the tools to become one of the most impactful players in the area

Broomfield is a team that I believe will be a sleeper team this upcoming season, as a bulk of their squad were underclassmen. They battled in games, made a playoff run, and showed that they belonged. But also a few names caught us by surprise. Kolt Smith Kolt Smith 6'5" | SG/PF Broomfield | 2027 State CO was their leading scorer on the year and was one of the most improved players in the conference. The 6’5 forward put up 11 points and 5.5 rebounds a game. He showed he could go inside and battle it out, he could finish with his back to the basket, and occasionally pop out and hit the 3-ball as well. He’s a prospect that is full of promise, and we hope to see a bit more of him this summer as well as in the Fall. He’s firmly on our radar and jumps in the Top-100 prospects in his rankings debut.
