Expert Analysis
Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
From the smallest player on the court to the biggest, Houser put the progressions in his game on full display and showed anyone looking on why he’ll be taking his talents to the Big 10 next year. He was a consistent force as a finisher inside, both off of rolls to the rim and creating his own shot via the post or facing up. Having clung to the perimeter at times in the past, the level of aggression and physicality Houser showed represent real turning points in his growth. He would step out for a clutch 3 in the second half, while also controlling the glass and being a factor as a rim protector throughout. He couldn’t have picked a better time to put it all together.

This Penn State commit tipped off the 2024-25 season with a 28-point effort against Darrow. Houser’s stretch 4 /5 skill set was on full display during that outstanding performance. The big lefty splashed 3 triples and scored in the mid-range. Houser also did considerable damage on the interior. In the paint his polished footwork and solid frame enabled him to bully his way to several buckets in close. As a nice bonus, Houser scored on flip hooks with his left and right hands.

17p 5r 1b 1s 1a vs SOH Elite
-Houser came alive in the 2H and showed his ability to serve as a stretch big with a 4/5 shooting performance from deep. With a soft touch in the paint, a decent handle, and some good vision as a high post passer– Houser is an intriguing candidate for college coaches to track as the game becomes more and more 3-point and mismatch-centric. Houser will have to pack on some weight and improve the movement skills to reach his ceiling, but he is well on his way.

The big man is an effective rebounder, finishing with 19 in one of his games. With soft hands and good footwork, Houser also looks like a reliable post scorer. Schools looking for a true center would be wise to get eyes on him this Spring.
