Carey Smith | Prep Hoops Scout
337 to 278…Last year Collado (Muhlenberg HS) was a 1st Team All-Berks selection. So, we should not be surprised that his post graduate year at Phelps has gotten off to a fast start. In the the first few weeks of the 2024-25 season Collado has already posted a 30-piece (4 threes) against Perkiomen School as well as several 20-point games. Collado’s ability to produce points off the bounce is incredible. His quick first step, change of direction moves and ability to execute a jump stop enable him to score at the rim with ease. Collado’s finishing bag of moves includes a smooth Euro-step and up and unders as well as the ability to use the glass from multiple angles. This lefty can drain threes all day too.

In the opening week to the 2024-25 season Collado was a ridiculously impressive. As we mentioned on Monday, Collado posted 20 points to go along with 6 assists versus Prestige Prep (NY). He followed up that game with a stellar 30-point (4 threes) performance versus Perkiomen School’s prep squad. In addition to draining threes from all around the arc, Collado relentlessly attacked the rim off the bounce. He capped off those aggressive dribble drives by finishing through contact with either hand. Collado also worked as a primary ball handler and delivered several creative dimes.

Last year at Muhlenberg High School, Collado was a 1st Team All-Berks selection. He tipped off his post graduate season at Phelps by registering 20 points to go along with 6 assists versus Prestige Prep (NY). This lefty with a pure stroke drained 6 triples during the season opener. When he was not popping threes, Collado scored on slashes to the cup and was automatic from the free throw line. He also generated a few steals / deflections which led to easy fast break buckets for himself or teammates.

Despite a highly decorated career at Muhlenberg, Collado (1st Team All-Berks selection) somehow remained under the radar last year. The move to national powerhouse Phelps for a postgraduate season is already paying dividends. In the last few weeks, Collado has been a standout performer at marquee fall ball events like the Big 64 Showcase. This lefty is a deadly three-point shooter and owns a polished mid-range game. Collado can operate as a distributing primary ball handler too. As a point guard his effective hesitation dribble is part of a deep bag of moves. Earlier this week Collado received an offer from John Melvin University (D2).
