still possesses the physical tools and intriguing long term potential to become a dominant interior force, much of what made him a key piece to the success this St. Joe’s Metuchen group endured on the way to capturing a GMC title and securing a spot in the NJSIAA South Jersey Non-Public A sectional final. Further along on the defensive end and far more impactful in that department, Patrick made his presence felt more and more as the season wained, bringing relentless energy and noticeable physicality standing out as a true defensive anchor— walling up against shot attempts without fouling, using his length and timing to protect the rim, winning battles on the boards with a rare combination of strength and a quick jump off the ground, and switch ability to guard out on the perimeter against quicker guards. With plenty of room to grow on the offensive end of the floor, Patrick still showed flashes of his improving touch around the basket and becoming a more efficient interior finisher. As the game continues to slow down for him, Patrick is definitely a prospect that will only get better with time and it’ll be interesting to see what his development looks like later down the road.
