got off to a solid start to the spring. The left handed combo guard has a natural instinct for putting the ball in the basket and was effective at different levels—getting downhill and capitalizing on driving lanes off the dribble and knocking down open catch and shoot threes while playing off the ball. All while also providing relief as a ball handler and flashes of running the offense as a primary ball handler and getting his teammates the ball in the right spots to be successful.

Union Catholic’s leading scorer on the year, Moore took a step back in that department for much of the game but impressed with his playmaking and floor game while helping engineer the win. With a Hermit zone limiting his opportunities to attack north-south or play in ball screens, he used his size to see over the top and help puncture the defense as a passer. He would ultimately be able to get into seams off the dribble to set up dropoff opportunities for his bigs and help establish some first half separation. Moore was also effective crashing down on the glass as a rebounder and navigating screens as an on-ball defender. His reverse alley-oop in the closing minutes added the exclamation point to the win as well. He continues to track as one of the top sophomores in the state.

delivered a standout performance that highlighted his diverse scoring attacking against Paramus Catholic. A quick left handed guard with a natural ability to score the basketball, Moore got going putting the ball in the basket from different areas on the floor— getting downhill and attacking driving angles off the bounce, hitting tough contested mid range pull ups that highlighted his soft touch, and even knocking down open catch and shoot looks from three point range off the ball.

is a quick and aggressive left handed guard with a flashy style who can really handle the ball and attack his spots with comfortability. Moore gets going attacking downhill and is a creative finisher around the basket as he uses soft touch floaters from different angles effectively and much of that ability was on display throughout the course of both of Union Catholic’s matchups in Miami. Moore also flashed his perimeter shot making ability showcasing he’s a threat from three point range, knock down some open looks, with deep range accuracy.

Another highly-regarded sophomore with USA Basketball experience, Moore got off to an uncharacteristically slow start in the game we saw but made up for it in a torrid second half effort. A dynamic lefty who’s continuing to transition to the lead guard spot, Moore was impossible to keep from the paint, highlighted during a personal spurt of 11 straight points to start the half which he punctuated with a stepback 3 to show he can keep defenses honest. Moore’s approach despite his early accolades is also refreshing, as he never takes a play off and uses his defensive ball pressure to kickstart his offensive attack going the other way. As he learns to slow down in the paint to let plays develop further, the sky is the limit for Moore with his nonstop motor and ability to get downhill seemingly at will.

is a lead guard for Union Catholic who lived in the in between area over the course of last weekend’s action— knocking down a number of tough, contested mid range pull ups and turn around fade aways. Operating as a ball dominant guard who often times attracts additional defenders, Moore flashed his court vision with a couple of finds he made when he saw help defense, hitting dump offs and spraying out to open shooters with on time and precise passing.

Moore is a bulldozing guard who does a good job using his frame to get to different spots on the floor. He showed that he can play around the rim and plays with a good deal of explosion. Moore looks to added some muscle to his frame since his freshman year and uses his strength to bully smaller opponents. He has an assertive motor which can be seen throughout his play. He should take a huge jump this upcoming season with several departures from a senior heavy Union Catholic (NJ) squad.

Stepping into the starting lineup from day one for a team with eyes on a state title, Moore wasted no time acquitting himself to the varsity level while looking perfectly comfortable taking on older competition. Back with his age group this spring, the southpaw lead guard has been a consistent standout while showcasing his expansive two-way repertoire. Moore plays with an infectious energy in the backcourt, constantly looking to make things happen on both ends but staying mostly under control in the process. Despite struggling with his jumper, he’s been a consistent double-figure scoring threat with his potent downhill game while making steady strides in his facilitating and game management as a floor general. With an older brother heading to Manhattan this fall, Moore has already received D1 traction of his own with a chance to rise onto high-major boards before too much longer.

Fresh off a standout freshman season as a key starter in an otherwise senior-laden lineup, Moore looked to relish the opportunity playing back against his age group while standing out consistently with his dynamic play in the backcourt. Leading his PSA squad to a season-opening 2-0 day, the southpaw shined both on and off the ball while setting the tone as a leader with his maturity and intensity. A natural scorer with the ability to fill it up from all levels of the floor, Moore continued to show his long-term upside as a lead guard with a handful of high-level reads including several live-dribble passes with his off hand. Stepping into the grassroots season, Moore continues to track as one of the region’s premier guard prospects in his class thus far.

proved to be reliable piece for Union Catholic’s rotation.
