Philly HS Live II: More Saturday New Jersey Eye Catchers

The June Scholastic Live Period came to a close late last month, giving college coaches one final opportunity to evaluate prospects in a live setting with their high school teams. The second session of Philly HS Live at the Alan Horwitz Sixth Man Center brought together many of New Jersey's top talents for a weekend of competitive basketball and noteworthy individual performances. Whether it was rising prospects generating new recruiting buzz or established names continuing to validate their reputation, plenty of players made the most of the spotlight. Here's another look at some of Saturday's top New Jersey performers in Philadelphia, PA.    An extremely confident scoring guard who possesses legit ball skills and creativity to break defenders down off the bounce, MJ Postell demonstrated so much of the intrigue that surrounds his skillset. Specifically his ability to provide a legitimate scoring pop from multiple different areas on the floor— more specifically, perimeter catch and shoot shooting, attacking driving angles off the bounce and finishing in traffic at the rim. All while also generating a boatload of rim pressure in transition for athletic above the rim finishes.     A dependable and reliable ball handler who rarely gets sped up and often exudes a strong command of the offense, [player_tooltip player_id='3270158' first='Jack' last='Martinez'] demonstrated a lot of intangibles in a point guard that you establish trust in— keeping his vision when attacking off the bounce and creating for others, controlling the pace of the action, and not getting too sped up by ball pressure. The most impressive part of Martinez's performance however had to be his finishing ability— proving to be a crafty finisher around the rim who demonstrated a really good understanding of certain angles not only finishing around the rim but also when attacking the basket off the bounce.      An aggressive scoring guard who's shown he can get going from multiple spots on the floor, [player_tooltip player_id='2504886' first='Malik' last='Moore'] put together impressive stretches that supported that notion. The left hander demonstrated a differentiated scoring attack— perimeter spot up shooting, a large amount of rim pressure in transition, along side creativity off the bounce to break defenders down to get in the paint and finishing in traffic around the rim.      [player_tooltip player_id='2201947' first='Anthony' last='Gonzalez'] is a reliable and steady primary ball handler for this Seton Hall Prep offense that consistently does a good job of controlling pace of the game and organizing offense— quick off the bounce to get paint touches for crafty layups and setting up teammates for clean looks while also excelling at pushing the tempo in transition for crafty finishes at the basket. A facilitator who has potent feel in PnR action, Gonzalez impressed navigating ball screens to hit pocket passes to divers rolling to the basket. All while also remaining a threat to score at all times and flashing his mid range area shot making.     A prospect who's endured an overall solid spring and looks to be on the cusp of carving out a role amongst Union Catholic's rotation, [player_tooltip player_id='2683638' first='RJ' last='Wicks'] continued to showcase the unique layer he adds to an offense with the skillset he possesses at his position. Continuing to establish himself as a true inside outside presence Wicks offered floor spacing at his size and position and countered that perimeter shooting ability with a low post finishing presence, particularly with deep seals on the interior for easy finishes around the basket.     An elite shot making guard who possesses a ton of confidence and glaring skill, [player_tooltip player_id='2504780' first='Infinite' last='Sincere-AmenRa'] did nothing but reaffirm his reputation as a dangerous shot maker. Sincere-AmenRa's performance was highlighted by elite level shot making that featured smooth and efficient creativity off the bounce to create separation off the dribble and knock down tough perimeter shots while also mixing in some equally as impressive mid range area makes.      Every bit of the definition of a pass first point guard who's distinctive in setting up others, [player_tooltip player_id='2504904' first='Izayah' last='Cooper'] stood out with intangibles as an unselfish ball handler. Paring that mindset with a tight handle and composure against ball pressure while keeping his head up all times,  Cooper approached the game with a commitment to keeping the ball moving offensively, particularly with look aheads in transition advancing the ball up the floor and making the extra pass in the half court to pass up good looks for great looks.
