He is one of the top unsigned seniors in the state at this point and is absolutely a scholarship-worthy, potential Division I prospect. Playing with Progeny UAA 17u he displayed his ability to attack the rim off of the dribble, was excellent in transition, and rebounded well from the wing.

The versatile senior wing has played in 11 games since being ruled eligible and has been a difference maker on both ends of the floor. An active defender that is able to guard multiple positions at a high level. He’s aggressive in passing lanes while also being another rim protector on the back line next to McGrew. Offensively, he’s an excellent cutter off the ball that’s capable of finishing plays above the rim and through contact. He’s a capable three-point shooter off the catch with a clean stroke. Has also shown flashes of a good handle that allows him to get to his spot on the floor and rise up in the midrange or get all the way to the basket. Willing passer with good court vision that at 6’6” allows him to see over the defense.

The out-of-state transfer is going to be a major problem the rest of the year, and the Fishers Tigers are going to take full advantage of it. Hillsman has returned to Fishers after starting his high school career there, and after a few stops, he comes back as one of the top bench contributors for the Tigers. He was a factor on both ends of the floor. He has natural athleticism with a long frame—a versatile prospect who plays so well off the bounce while also being capable of hitting outside jumpers.

Hillsman came into the season as a highly rated prospect after spending last season in Tennessee. Against Warren he made a statement as to why he was regarded so highly regarded. Ethan’s first two plays were momentum changers. A drive to the basket for a two-handed slam and later on he spotted up on the wing and knocked down a big three to put his team up double digits. Hillsman was just as important on defense rejecting several shots and being a dependable rim protector. In the second half he stayed active scoring off putbacks along with stepping out hitting another three-pointer. He finished with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
