Charlie has one of the best three point shooting touches in his class, we know that. But what makes him special as a shooter compared to others? For starters he is 6’5 and he is always quite confident in what he does. But I would also add, where Howe releases the ball and the arc he gets on his shot, it allows him to make shots when the defender is in a good close-out/shot contesting spot. And with the guards the Rebels have, he is going to be open often to make threes like he did vs Hopkins.

He looks ready to take the next step as a junior for Champlin Park, giving them a really talented backcourt this season.

Yes, he is lethal in catch-and-shoot situations, but he also has the ability to create his own shot off the dribble. At 6’5”, Charlie can elevate over the defense with ease to get clean looks at the rim, which he converts at a high rate. On top of his strong play, Charlie was also an active and vocal teammate, encouraging his teammates and communicating on defense. Charlie showed a lot of potential to develop into a great player down the road.

Howe put on a shooting clinic, boasting some of the most fluid, effortless mechanics in the building. The Champlin Park wing pairs a smooth hesitation dribble with a lethal perimeter stroke from range, making him an absolute nightmare to track in transition. With a soft shooter’s touch and high release, Howe stepped into a reliable playmaking when defenders’ over played him as a shooter. The D1 Minnesota wing could create the dominoes to fall with a glance at the basket.

The make was so smooth and timed perfectly that it looked like it was done by a professional. He’s a player that we talk about as high level because of that consistency of touch and if he has this type of improved dribble separation game his play will move to an even higher level. I left his game thinking he is a higher prospect than when I started watching Charlie today

Charlie checked in off the bench in the quarterfinals and instantly changed the game for Minnesota Falcons. Comets Elite was going with a zone to try to contain the size of the Falcons, but Charlie came in and drained three first half threes to really stretch them out. He added in a fourth make in the second half on his way to 14 points in the win. Listed at 6’5 he has plenty of size out on the wing, with the shooting touch to makes defenders pay for leaving him open.

Charlie fits so well into this D1 Minnesota team full of elite ball handlers and athletic wings. He was on fire from beyond the arc in both matchups I saw, showing a lot of confidence and deep range. He is great at moving without the ball, as he created open looks for himself without having to take a dribble. I am really excited to see how Howe’s game continues to evolve headed into his junior season.
