About Jesse

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

6'8 physical forward/center with the ability to protect the rim and ignite the break with my passing and finding teammates. Efficient finisher inside with a developing jump shot. A versatile defender who plays with high energy and looks to make the right play every possession, and plays hard.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Forged by early adversity, I have a figure it out and push through mindset on and off the court. I’m a disciplined competitor and person who chooses the gym over distractions, staying driven regardless of the circumstance, and always looking to get better. I am a vocal leader, always pushing and lifting my teammates up. My why is my home country and those without the chance to follow their dreams.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’m a vocal leader who stays disciplined to keep my team locked in. I’ve learned to be adaptable—leading when needed but always playing my role to win. I’ve built a film habit to study and work on my mistakes. My best quality is mental toughness and always pushing through.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced heavy challenges since I was young, forcing me to grow up fast. I used those experiences to build a figure-it-out mindset. Recently, I pushed through an injury that limited my sophomore HS and AAU seasons, but I’ve had it corrected to ensure I’m back at 100%. I don't fold under pressure; I just work harder. Whether in life or on the court, I fight through adversity to come out stronger.

Although these type of showcase events are often guard/wing dominated, it still provided a chance to see some of that raw potential that Jesse has. He has big hands that help him catch in traffic, he works hard running the floor, and looks to dunk just about everything inside. Jesse looks a bit more coordinated than I remember from a year ago as he continues to grow into his frame, and that allowed him to slide into positions to pull in rebounds or alter shots as a rim protector.
