About Carter
What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?
My biggest strength is probably my feel for the game. I can score and create for my teammates, but I’m always trying to read the defense and make the right play. I think it shows in games because I can change pace, get to my spots, find my teammates, and impact the game in different ways.
What are you working to improve right now?
I’m working on becoming a better all-around player. I want to keep improving my defense, get more consistent with my shot, and make quicker decisions with the ball. I don’t want to only impact the game by scoring—I want to be able to help my team in every way I can.
What are you looking for in a college program?
As his father, Carter is only 10, so right now the focus is on his development and keeping his love for the game. When the time comes, we want a program that values him as a person and player, challenges him academically, and has a strong culture and coaching staff committed to his development. Ultimately, I want him to work hard enough to have choices and choose the program that’s the best fit.
Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?
Outside of basketball, coaches should know that I’m a good student, I care about my family, and I like having fun and being around my friends. I’m competitive, but I’m also respectful and always willing to learn. My parents teach me to work hard, stay humble, and treat people the right way. I want to be known for being a good person just as much as I’m known for being a good basketball player.
