The list of shooters in Ohio as good or better than this 6’8″ forward from Big Walnut High School cannot be long at all. He was absolutely excellent all weekend long for Ohio Buckets EYCL 17u and culminated the weekend by scoring 24 points in a title game loss to UNRNKD EYCL 17u. Scholl’s combination of height and pure shooting ability should make him a hot commodity throughout the rest of the summer.

In a game that was incredibly ugly in the first half, Scholl came out firing in the second half with multiple key 3-pointers in their comeback effort. Late in the game Scholl had a key lefty late to help extend Big Walnut’s lead. Gritty effort by Big Walnut to respond from a sluggish first half to leave with a win.

One of the breakout performers from the Midwest fall league in Columbus, Scholl is taking that next step that I’ve been waiting for him to make. One of the elite shooters in Ohio, Scholl is making an impact outside of just making shots on the perimeter more consistently. Gifted with length, Scholl could become a nice secondary rim protector when he adds more weight and strength to push back in the paint against more physical forwards. Things are starting to click for him, and I expect a monster junior season for Scholl.

When you see prospects during their freshman or 15 U AAU season you typically see some flashes and hope to project development down the road for them. Scholl was one of those prospects who flashed at an extremely high level at a young age and has taken that next step to dominating local competition almost every time he steps on the court. The growing confidence in his all around game has made him more than just a floor spacer from the power forward position and should have college programs intrigued when they see him either this winter for Big Walnut or in the grassroots season for the Ohio Buckets .

Scholl has taken his game to the next level this fall, consistently dominating the competition and looking like a Division I target ready to earn his first offer either this winter or spring. Scholl hit a couple mid-range shots where he simply shot over smaller defenders, showing his face-up ability. Maybe his best move of the day was a euro step that ended with a lefty finish at the rim. Arguably the best floor spacing forward in the state, Scholl hit a few deep 3-pointers off the catch and DHO actions.

One of the elite stretch forwards in Ohio, Scholl is going to make shots on the perimeter basically every game he plays in. With a couple of college line 3-pointers, defenses have to respect Scholl well beyond the high school line. A couple turnaround jumpers also showcase his tough shot-making ability. What’s most important for Scholl however is continuing to add strength, weight and play through contact. If Scholl can consistently get to the foul line this winter I’d expect his PPG numbers to spike for Big Walnut.

Filling in this weekend on the 17 U level, Scholl has been productive scoring on the interior against older competition. Strength is the biggest part of Scholl’s game that needs to improve and he used his size and length to finish efficiently at the rim. If you’ve ever seen Scholl play you know how elite of a shooter he is and of course he was making it rain from long distance on Saturday as well.

The value of shooting is at an all time high and few players in Ohio shoot it better than Scholl from downtown. A marksman with a simple role for the college level, I’ll be most focused on how Scholl develops physically as the weight room should be his home for the foreseeable future. Tons of long-term upside with Scholl who can catch fire in an instant from long range.

Not many kids at School’s size and age can shoot the ball like he can. The prototypical stretch four, Scholl has a very simple role and that’s make shots and space the floor. With a quick release and the confidence to fire from long range, Scholl is one of the top shooters in Ohio’s 2027 class. Another prospect who will need to fill out, adding weight and muscle should be of priority for Scholl this off-season. With his height and shooting ability he already has a skillset that college coaches are looking for and has two more years at the high school level to round out his game.

Scholl impressed from behind the arc converting on several three point attempts. He shoots a clean ball and if his feet are set the ball is probably going in. He uses his length to congest shots. School is a budding stretch four. He finished with 9 points. Scholl is starting to scratch the surface and his best basketball is still ahead of him.
