Crafty and explosive finishing is what you get with Luke Gerken Luke Gerken 6'5" | SF/PF Liberty-Benton | 2027 State OH ! He’s a very athletic wing who has the quick burst to get to the rim and finish with strength. He threw down a huge dunk at the Toledo Top 64! Really crafty and smart finisher at the basket. Luke has a very high motor and plays with a relentless mindset to be the best. I’m also really bought in on his jump shot. Pure stroke! Luke is certainly a kid who can play at the next level as he holds multiple college offers. His work on Sunday showed how ready and locked in he is to having a huge senior year at Liberty-Benton!

The Ohio Buckets Black team is always good for a couple small college sleepers around northwest Ohio and that’s exactly what Gerken is. An impressive athlete from the wing forward position, Gerken can explode vertically for blocks and dunks when he has a clear runway and has the positional size to be an impact defender and rebounder. Impressive small town prospect who should have plenty of interest to play at the next level from regional small college programs.

The Ohio Buckets Black group is usually good for a couple small college gems and Gerken was their most impressive player and prospect on Sunday. A solid open court athlete, Gerken had a chase down block and ran the floor well in transition. Last weekend Gerken threw down a nasty poster dunk in transition, showing off his vertical explosiveness. Also showing the skill to knock down jumpers with his feet set, Gerken impacted the game in a variety of ways for his team. Based on his positional size, athleticism and offensive skill, I’d say Gerken should be a priority recruit for regional small college programs.
