Bertke continues to just get better with his skill set. He is finding new ways to score the ball and expand his scoring. He is a true three-level scorer. He is becoming more efficient and simpler with his buckets. He does not need to put the floor on the ground too much, but scores at a high volume. He is a clear next-level player who can play and guard in multiple situations and positions.

I was really impressed with Bertke in both games I caught on Saturday and Sunday as his ability to pass for his size, start the break and finish over smaller defenders is a super uniqure skillset that a ton of college coaches are looking to find. Showing more confidence as a slasher in the paint than I saw in the spring, Bertke also had a couple right-handed finishes at the rim. One of Bertke’s best skills is his lob finishing with a couple crazy catch and finishes from passes around half-court being sent right at the rim for him to control and score off of. Bertke also just simply shot over smaller defenders for a couple easy buckets and overall played with a ton of confidence and swagger. If college coaches see this level of production and confidence during July then I’d expect Bertke to start to collect some Division I offers as his tools are next level.

Filling in for Ohio Buckets Black 17 U today and playing with his older brother Beckett, Bertke was a welcome addition as his size, length and passing ability all impacted the game at a high level in a semifinal victory over the Ohio Saints. Bertke makes quick decisions as a passer and his height allows him to see over the defense. The Bertke brothers are getting quality reps together just in time for June basketball to start with team camps and live period opportunities to be seen by college coaches.

Bertke is so skilled and is such a versatile player. He is 6’7 and can play the wing or center in any lineup. He is a versatile athlete who is so smooth, has great strides, and is quicker than you expect. He had a poster dunk in transition. His skill set matches this versatility with his touch. He is a great three-point shooter. Bertke is automatic from deep. He has a nice back-to-the-basket game as he is tough to contest to fade away. His floor and ceiling are incredibly high.

I usually don’t like players listing themselves at multiple positions but Bertke follows the multi-position designation to a tee. Bertke has the size of a wing defensively who can impact the game with his length and activity but also can handle and pass the ball like a lead guard. Very unique skillset that is hard to find, Bertke is a prospect I expect Division I coaches to be very interested in seeing early during the live periods this summer.

is an impressive sophomore with a high ceiling. The first thing that jumps out at you is the size and length of Trevick and then the second thing was he was guarding the other team’s best player and point guard. He has a high IQ on defense and uses his length and athleticism to benefit him in this match-up. He is a mismatch issue for a lot of teams on the offensive end as well. He does most his damage from inside the arc but can step out and knockdown shots.

One of the few players where having multiple positions makes sense as Bertke has the size to play at the small forward position and defend wings but also the ball handling ability to run the show at the point guard position. He’s helped Lima Shawnee get off to a 9-2 first half to their season. The upside with Bertke is obvious as there aren’t many players at his size and age that can dribble, pass and shoot at the level Bertke is capable of. One of the highest upside prospects from northwest Ohio in the class of 2027.

The younger Bertke brother also stood out as his upside is obvious the moment you start to watch him.

runs the point guard position for his high school team as a Sophomore, something extremely rare for a player of his height. Defensively, Bertke used his length to get a couple blocks at the rim. I was also impressed with how he calmed himself down after rushing himself early in the game to play really high level basketball in the final three quarters of the game. Lima Shawnee also does as good a job as any team in the state at hitting leak out players for layups and dunks and Bertke got a couple breakaway dunks and layups by timing a Lima Shawnee steal or rebound to get down the court before the defense.

Bertke did a nice job of running the floor and getting out in transition for his team. A very naturally talented player, Bertke worked to find a balance of playing on and off the ball when he was on the court. Also a dangerous 3-point shooter, Bertke knocked down a couple spot-up triples from the corner. Lots of long-term upside with Bertke as he should be expected to take a big jump this winter with Lima Shawnee.

Berkte is a nice forward who is a really nice sophomore forward. He is someone you like to watch because he has clear modern-day ability. He can step out and stroke it but the athletic ability and length to guard and play in the post. He has a nice stroke from beyond the arch and has a nice midrange game. Good rebounder as well.
