A prospect who has been on our radar for a while thanks to his performances with Whitmer, with the Ohio Buckets and at the Toledo Top 64, Johnson is an athletic forward who wants to play above the rim in transition, off cuts and offensive rebounds. Johnson has been a standout for the Ohio Buckets White 17 U team that has a handful of small college targets from northwest Ohio. I could see Johnson having a breakout senior season for a Whitmer squad that will need him to be an experienced leader.

Johnson has all the tools you want to see in a wing at the next level. He’s long, athletic, and plays with a smoothness that makes him tough to guard. He’s a really good slasher who thrives in transition and knows how to use his length to finish around the rim. Defensively, he has the wingspan and quickness to disrupt opponents and guard multiple positions. Johnson is a high-ceiling player that I expect to impress in this setting.

Another athlete who is slowly starting to put the pieces together, Johnson had one of the more impressive dunks that came off a nice rip move to create separation. I really like the way Johnson moves in transition with his explosive athleticism. Will need to see more from him this winter before adding him to the rankings but Johnson has been on our watchlist and is moving closer to getting the elevation to a ranked player on the website.
