About AJ
Expert Analysis
Michael Schneiderman | Prep Hoops Scout
Sharp shooting guard that brings a balanced scoring approach and composure to the game. Efficient catch and shoot shot maker from 3 land. Confident going off the dribble as well. Has a quick trigger to get it off even with a hand up. Will attack closeouts at angles and shows initiation to drive through contact. Team runs well executed stuff in ½ court setting and he fits well into the system with off ball movement to go off screens hard to get open. Multi-faceted scoring threat that can pour it on in bunches.

Hendricks seems to have grown a bit and is now close to 6-foot-3. And at that height and with his wingspan and ability to play on the perimeter, he can inflict some major damage on opponents on both ends of the floor. An improved shooter who does not take plays off on defense, Hendricks can slash to the basket, rip down rebounds and guard near the baseline or out on the top of the key. He and his twin brother, Austin, are major returning pieces for a Notre Dame program that finished second in the Fox River Valley Conference and advanced to the WIAA Division 2 sectional level a year ago.

Hendricks averaged 6.8 points as a sophomore for a Notre Dame squad that won 21 of 28 games and advanced to the WIAA Division 2 sectional finals. He has shown, both with Notre Dame and Team 1848 , that his scoring output figures to balloon next winter as he put up points all spring and summer at an impressive level. He flashed a strong ability to score from outside the arc, but also proved his could put the ball on the floor and attack the basket with his size and strength. He forms a dynamic backcourt duo with his twin brother, Austin, as both compete with high energy on both ends of the court.

Hendricks was on fire Sunday evening in a couple of games for his squad at the WBY Camp. The rangy wing prospect made threes, scored off drives to the basket and finished well in on the fast break. Hendricks also located open teammates with his passing skill. At one point, Hendricks put up 10 points in less than two minutes, hitting two triples, scoring once in transition and then hitting a pull-up mid-range jump shot. Hendricks saw plenty of action for the varsity squad at Notre Dame Academy as a sophomore, helping the Tritons to the first sectional appearance in school history.

complemented the play of his brother very well as they both moved very well on offense, with and without the basketball, while also looking for each other and their teammates with their strong passing skills. AJ had 13 points and was able to make a three while also driving the ball to the basket and finishing or earning trips to the foul line, where he made all four of his attempts.
Team 1848
lost a late lead and wound up losing to Sanford Black, but the play of both of the Hendricks brothers kept their squad in the game until the very end.

A very good player on both ends of the court, Hendricks’ strong play helped
Team 1848
remain close with Minnesota Fury – Zurn deep into the second half. In fact, his baseline triple tied the game at 36 before the Fury went on a 10-0 run that basically locked up the game. Hendricks has very good ball skills as he can pass, shoot and dribble. And he has the size, lateral movement and length to become a terrific defender. AJ and his twin brother,
