I hadn’t seen Nick since his 15u season last summer, and he looks like he’s gotten much more agile since then. At 6’4 he was flying by defenders in transition, and was able to beat his man with hard cuts in the half-court. That combination of effort and improved athleticism helped him pick up a handful of high percentage shots right at the rim as he helped lead All Wisconsin to a big win on opening night. Already a two year varsity performer for Green Bay Preble.

. His team fell behind early against Jay Academy and just couldn’t get back into the game, but Nick’s motor never stopped on either end of the floor. He was constantly battling for rebounds and working to cut his man off any time he tried to attack. Has a promising frame at 6’4 with solid mobility, and a frame that suggests he can continue to add strength/muscle. Offensively he has some range beyond the arc and is a worker around the basket who can finish through contact.

Howard was the versatile power forward that played hard and competed. Good size and movement at 6’4”. Could play on a wing, but was one who could control the paint.

Nick is a high upside prospect for All Wisconsin 15u. As a freshman at Green Bay Preble he saw consistent minutes, averaging 2.4 ppg for his team. Last night with All Wisconsin he showcased why he’s an intriguing prospect moving forward. At 6’4 he already has some size on the wing, and moves well both laterally and getting up and down the floor. Howard showcased good coordination attacking the basket, and had a nice lay-up altering his body in mid-air to avoid a shot blocker in the second half. Comfortable stepping out on the perimeter and knocking down the open three as well.
