Bright spot and standout against Ohio Force as the rising sophomore helped lead his team to a 20-point victory in their first matchup. Active defensively creating steals and consistently crashed missed shots for second-chance opportunities. Showed versatility with a step-in three and also made plays in transition, including a no-look feed in the open floor. Brings athleticism to his game and can get up for dunks, impacting winning plays in bunches.
Allen was a standout performer on both sides of the ball for Next Level Grind
on Saturday. The forward used his speed to close on opponents and come away with the steal and the bucket on the other end. At 6’1 Allen can win on the glass as well, grabbing multiple defense boards and turning them into offense on the other end. Allen showed off a strong jumper as well, with the ability to consistently hit from beyond the arc.
Allen impressed early in the day, helping lead Team 1848
to a win over Chicago Showtime. The 5’10 guard showed good change of speed on the ball, able to freeze his defender and then explode past him to get to the rim. Anytime there was a gap to the basket, Abrian seemed to spot it and get through it. Allen showed impressive finishing touch, able to score from a variety of angles while also being able to finish over the top of bigger defenders. Good vision to dump it off at the last second to his bigs when a help defender stepped up on him.
