The season tips off on Monday and the excitement level is very high. The state seems to be fairly wide open and the Mr. Basketball race has several really good players in the mix. It's entirely possible that the three best Seniors in Kentucky are all in the 11th region. There are as many as 10 teams who could win the State title in March. The transfer portal has been VERY active going back to the spring. We even had a transfer last week after a team had already scrimmaged. Here's a look at the most impactful transfers this season.

First Team:

Center [player_tooltip player_id='2886508' first='Damian' last='Jung'], Eastern - Committed to Northeastern, the big man arrived this summer and should make an immediate impact as a rim protector on defense and offensive lob threat.

Wing [player_tooltip player_id='1472002' first='Gavin' last='Lightning'], Caverna - Back in Kentucky after a two year stay in Florida, Gavin is an inside/out threat on offense and is comfortable guarding any spot on the floor, too.

Wing [player_tooltip player_id='1565984' first='Keriawn' last='Berry'], North Hardin - Perhaps the best transfer in the offseason, Berry immediately takes North Hardin into the top tier of the 5th region discussion.

Shooting Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1894141' first='Tylin' last='George'], Adair County - One of the state's leading scorers last season, George should have a chance to impress with more talent around him than what he had at UHA.

Combo Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1359140' first='Cole' last='Edelen'], Ballard - Back after a short stint at OTE, the former Male Bulldog is in the discussion for best shooter in Kentucky. He's committed to WKU.

Second Team:

Forward/Center [player_tooltip player_id='2429605' first='Jordan' last='Jackson'], St. Xavier - A true difference maker on the defensive end. Jackson's offensive game is still evolving but his motor is ELITE.

Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2520123' first='Boogie' last='Cook'], Ballard - A top 40 player in America by some services, Boogie should be an impact player for the Bruins once he's in shape and learns their offensive system.

Forward [player_tooltip player_id='1702596' first='Landon' last='Blakey'], Adair County - One of my favorite Seniors in the state, Landon is a three level scoring threat and a high volume rebounder.

Shooting Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2541123' first='Ryder' last='Akins'], George Rogers Clark - A devastating driver when allowed to get to his left hand, Akins has already earned multiple D1 offers heading into this season.

Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1571421' first='Miles' last='Woodfork'], McCracken County - Perhaps the best player in the first region, Woodfork enrolling at McCracken made them the HEAVY favorite to win the region.

Third Team:

Center Noah Bol, Eastern - Not much is known about Bol except that he is well traveled and adds some more size to the front line at Eastern.

Forward [player_tooltip player_id='2726638' first='CJ' last='Waller'], Lawrence County - Perhaps the biggest X factor in the 15th region this season, Waller should be a hard matchup for all foes.

Wing [player_tooltip player_id='2046737' first='Thurman' last='Wade'], Frederick Douglass - Wade has already made an impact on the football field at Douglass but should provide a tough two way wing for the Broncos on the court.

Shooting Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2332028' first='Michael' last='Acton II'], Daviess County - The best team in the region managed to add a 20 point per game scorer from a district foe and it went pretty much overlooked by the rest of the state.

Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2392296' first='Malachi' last='Payne'], Boyd County - Boyd hopes to finally win the 16th this year. To do it, they will need Payne and [player_tooltip player_id='1359133' first='Jacob' last='Spurlock'] be the best players on the floor in the regional tournament.
