Another impact player for Tennessee Impact 16 U, Akins impacts the game in a handful of ways. Akins has quick hands defensively and had a handful of strips, deflections and loose balls. A strong guard, Akins does a nice job of playing lower and stronger than his opponents on drives. After struggling with passing turnovers all game, Akins had back-to-back assists to break a tie in the final 90 seconds of the game and allow TN Impact 16 U to come away with a hard-fought victory.

A really skilled and strong scorer who excels at getting to his spots, Akins has some James Harden to his game. He’s a heavy left handed driver who averaged 15 points per game this past season for the state champions. A 37% shooter from three, Ryder is also a reliable shooter. He’s one of the best isolation scorers in the class.

In his first season at GRC, Ryder has made an instant impact. As a sophomore who is averaging 15.0 PPG and 5 RPG, Ryder only has room to grow. Ryder is deadly from behind the arc, he is shooting 37.5% from deep.

A sophomore who plays with the physicality and strength of a much older player, Akins goes hits you before you can hit him on the offensive end of the court. An impressive athlete, Akins had some above the rim layups and excels at finishing with his right hand. Akins had a strong finish with his left hand on a drive. In the second quarter Akins hit back-to-back 3-pointers including a heat check pull-up from the top of the key. Very impressive performance from Akins who rose to the occasion in front of a packed gym.

looked built for the big moment, playing with confidence and composure throughout the game. He hit several big shots that helped swing momentum and played hard all night long. Akins led his team with 21 points, shooting 9-of-11 from the field and 2-of-3 from three, while also pulling down a team-high eight rebounds. His three-pointers came in key moments, and he also knocked down pull-up shots in transition. In addition, he handled and passed the ball well and battled hard in the paint.

A strong guard who excels at getting into the paint and scoring the ball, Akins is a lefty who can get to the rim early and often. Ryder is a skilled player who can get paint touches or step out past the three point line and knock down shots consistently. With several early D1 offers, Ryder is a hot name with colleges already.

A transfer into GRC over the summer, Akins holds several D1 offers already and has been impressive in scrimmages leading up to this season. A strong lefty driver, Ryder does a little bit of everything and does it all at a high level.

Ryder is a physical guard who excels at getting to the rim but also showed that he can set up teammates for open looks. Akins is a very well rounded player who has a high basketball IQ and can thrive with or without the ball in his hands. To reach his ceiling, Ryder probably needs to show the ability to guard hyper athletic guards on the defensive end. His offensive game is very solid and its easy to see why Stetson already offered the GRC Sophomore.

The most recent transfer on this list, Akins is physically mature and stronger than most 2028s right now. He should thrive at GRC when he won’t have to be a primary option on offense every night out. Look for Ryder to become a very efficient scorer in his Sophomore season.

One of the top performers I saw all day Akins was filling up the stat sheet to the tune of 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in a blowout victory. Akins is a strong guard who can play on or off the ball and his skillset was perfectly displayed today with a barrage of 3-pointers as well as a couple nice passes either to spot-up shooters or cutters. Akins is a lefty 3-point shooter but prefers to finish with his right hand at the rim and had a sweet reverse layup today. Couldn’t ask for much more out of him, he impacted the game in a variety of ways and helped his team cruise to victory. Hoping to see more of the same as the weekend continues.
