CJ is a true big at 6’8″ and looks like he still has more growing to do. An old school post player who is used to playing with his back to the basket, Thomas continues to improve his all around game and is getting more comfortable scoring from the perimeter and attacking off the bounce. If there is a player to buy low on right now and hold on to the stock long term, CJ may be that guy in 2028.

CJ has a chance to be really good. He’s got legitimate size and nice touch around the bucket. He moves from 36th to 23rd in this update and looks like he could be primed for a breakout Sophomore season for the Cardinals. A college coach recently told me that Thomas could be the best prospect on the GRC roster. And that roster is full of kids with scholarship offers.

CJ has a lot of potential if he starts to get more aggressive. Sometimes, he reminds of a gentle giant with his demeanor and lack of motor. When he’s determined to be, Thomas can be a big time difference maker with his size and scoring ability. He could be a starter this season and has D1 upside thanks to his big frame that continues to grow. CJ has the chance to really develop over the next year and is certainly a name to watch.

Another high ceiling prospect, CJ could be a varsity starter for GRC next season. A very big body and still growing, once Thomas starts to get more athletic, he could be a force in the low post. CJ played predominantly freshman and JV this past season for the Cardinals but has as much potential or more than most of the best 2028s in the 10th region.

Thomas is a freshman and JV player who is getting some varsity time on one of the best teams in the state. CJ has great size and is going to grow at least 2-3 more inches before he’s done (in my opinion). He’s got some polish around the bucket and is comfortable stepping out to shoot a three. Look for CJ to blossom over the next year or so.

Thomas passes the eye test with his height and big body but once the games started, he showed he belonged with the best of the “bigs”. CJ barely played in 8th grade according to my sources in Winchester but he looks like he could be a varsity contributor this season for the Cardinals. He made outside shots and showed some nice moves around the rim. If he continues growing and thins out some, he’ll be a big time college prospect.
