The term “underrated” has to be taken with a grain of salt when speaking of Kentucky’s 2028 class given its depth. It’s hard to not utter it, however, when speaking of Conner. 1-on-1, he’s one of the best scoring guards in the state regardless of class. Running with a really good WV Gold 16U squad, he gave a preview of his potential this past weekend. He attacked the rim with force in his team’s first game and found success while doing so. Known for his outside shooting, Conner’s ability to finish through contact around the rim continues to evolve.

ranks inside the top 30 in the Bluegrass in three-pointers per game at 3.1 and sits top 20 in three-point percentage at 43.3%, with 55 made threes on the season. Morguson is smooth and looks confident with his shot, capable of knocking down tough, contested looks. He doesn’t need to be wide open or stationary, showing the ability to score off the catch and in multiple situations, all while maintaining strong shooting mechanics.

Another transfer, Morguson returns to Powell County after a one year stint at George Rogers Clark. Expect Conner to play the majority of the season with the ball in his hands. He’s an excellent passer and playmaker who can also score the ball. I think he’s at his best when he’s attacking the paint and creating the offense for those around him.

Morguson is a smooth scorer who is in line for a bigger role at GRC this season. He should slide right into the starting spot that was vacated by Eli Craig’s graduation. Conner got more and more time last season as the year went on and is the top returning three point shooter on the Cardinals roster. Morguson is skilled with the ball in his hands and capable of playing on or off the ball. He’ll likely be more of a shooting guard this year then move on to the ball full time as a Junior.

Morguson has carved out a role at GRC thanks to his ability to knock down threes. Conner barely played early in the season but has worked up to the 7th man on a loaded roster thanks to his ability to make open threes. It’s possible that Conner is a starter for the Cardinals next season but he could be a difference maker in the 10th region tournament this year.

Morguson has been off to a slow start at GRC after transferring from Powell County but he’s been heating up lately. After a double figure game last week, Conner is starting to see his averages improve and he’s a better shooter than his 35% FG and 33% 3FG would suggest. Expect him to be a starter next season and grow into that role.

Conner is a very solid point guard who takes and makes tough shots. He’s a good passer with a tight handle. He got thrown into the fire for GRC this summer and played pretty well. Morguson’s future is probably tied to how well he can get past elite athletes and how well he stays in front of them on the defensive end. Don’t be surprised if he’s one of the most productive freshmen in central Kentucky.

Morguson is super duper skilled. He clearly lives in the gym and works on his game. Conner lacks vertical athleticism in the sense that he’s not dunking and playing above the rim but he has a different sort of athleticism that allows for tough finishes at the rim as well as the ability to get his shot off over bigger defenders. GRC has a guard that should have a really good career with his skill set and work ethic.

It’s early but Morguson looks like he’ll be a very big part of any success GRC has in the winter. In past viewings, I was impressed with Conner’s passing but he served mainly as a shooter last weekend. Expect Conner to learn behind Juniors

Morguson showcased his elite scoring and playmaking while helping DHawk Hoops 2028 reach the semifinals. He shoots from the perimeter off the catch and dribble, including a step-back jumper. He can finish with either hand after driving to the basket. His passing ability makes the defense pay for leaving his teammates open.
