Most schools would need to throw a 6’6″ freshman on to the court early and often but GRC is not most schools. Colven has spent his freshman season developing in hopes of playing a role for the state champs this year. On the court, Amburgey is a mobile big who plays hard. He needs to avoid falling in love with the three point shot and stay in the paint, where he does most of his damage.

Skilled inside-out 6’6” forward out of George Rogers Clark in Kentucky showed his full skill set at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Smooth athlete that was able to play all over the floor. Was really good driving matchups from the perimeter and finishing going right. High motor and high IQ player that defends and rebounds at a high level. One of the more higher potential guys this year at camp.

One of the few out-of-state prospects that made the trip to the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase, Amburgey quickly solidified himself as one of the best prospects in the gym. The 6’6″ forward from George Rogers Clark High School in Kentucky is a very smooth, fluid athlete for his size. He found success driving it right in 3-on-3 action and was a consistent force both inside and out in 5-on-5 play. Amburgey is definitely a prospect to remember in the Class of 2029 in the state of Kentucky.

We are excited to welcome this out-of-state prospect to the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Anytime you come across a young 6’6″ forward you will at least be intrigued. Amburgey, from George Rogers Clark High School in Kentucky, certainly possesses some impressive physical tools for a young prospect. It will be fun to see him go against the best of the best from the state of Indiana.
