A straight line driver from the shooting guard position, Hobson wasted no time getting to the basket and attacking closeouts. I liked how direct Hobson was with how he got to the rim as if you didn’t force him to turn and change directions, he was getting all the way to the basket and usually scoring. Keeping the game simple and executing dribble moves and shots he was confident in, Hobson was efficient and a nice secondary scoring option for his team. Also was impressed with Hobson’s ability to come up with loose basketballs for his team and get extra possessions.

Hobson started most of his Freshman season at Dunbar before transferring to West Jessamine this summer. I haven’t seen Cameron since June. It will be interesting to see if he has added any bulk to his thin frame over the last 3 months.

Hobson averaged over 7 points per game while starting most of the year for Dunbar. Now at West Jessamine, Cameron will be part of a loaded 2029 class for the Colts. Joining Peter Patterson and former middle school teammate Brayden Haffley, West Jessamine is going to be in position to be really good for the next three years. Adding Cameron at the point guard spot will allow Haffley to play off the ball, where he is most dangerous. Look for Hobson to be possibly the most impactful transfer into the 12th region this season.

Hobson transferred from Dunbar to West Jessamine for his Sophomore season. As a freshman, Cameron started and averaged 7.1 PPG.

Hobson has become the go-to scorer for the Bulldogs this summer and started the live period with a 27 point outing against Anthony Wayne from Ohio. Cameron is likely the best Sophomore in Lexington.

From one Cam to another, Hobson was the top freshman in Lexington this past season and looks like he has the potential to score 2000+ points in his high school career. Cameron needs to get stronger and add bulk to his thin frame. As a Sophomore, look for Hobson to be one of the top guards in Lexington after the city just graduated a ton of talent.

He hoops with Griffin Elite 15U and is up to 5’11”. Hobson has exciting potential on the court. He has a smooth feel for the game and is a natural playmaker. Cam has a “dog mentality” and the will to work. If Hobson can grow into his frame, he will be one heck of a player.

Averaging 8 points and 3 rebounds per game in the always loaded 11th region is impressive. When you factor in that Hobson is doing it as a freshman in a region dominated by Seniors this year, his season has been even more impressive. Cameron has plenty of room to improve over the course of his career but he knows how to score the ball at a high level already and will

Hobson has an opportunity to be one of the more impactful freshmen in the 11th region this season. Coming off a strong AAU season, Cameron had a really good showing at our freshman event in August and looks like he’s primed for a big freshman campaign at Dunbar. A good shooter who can also finish at a high rate, Hobson needs to continue to tighten his ball handling, especially in traffic. Certainly a name to keep an eye on in Lexington.

Cameron impressed me during the 5 on 5 play especially. He is a gritty, skilled guard. Defensively he had multiple steals and deflections. At his size, he scored multiple tough finishes around the rim. He was one of few guards that proved they have the ability to play off 2 feet and make the right plays. Once he got to the paint, it was a bucket or assist every time. Cameron has a shot at some legit varsity time at PLD this season.
