The Sophomore class is deep and there are players who move way up the rankings with every update. Several members of the class have earned their first D1 offers in recent months. With each update, several new names continue to rise. With almost 200 players ranked already, this 2029 class is shaping up to be the deepest we have ever ranked. Here's a look at the top power forwards and Centers in the Sophomore class. This does not include any players who were previously covered in our top ten articles.

Huffman's upside is among the highest in this class. With his length and shot blocking, Aaron has a lot of potential and his offensive game is still catching to his defense and rebounding. Huffman recently transferred to Moore and will partner with fellow Sophomore CJ Sweeney to form one of the best Sophomore duos in Kentucky.

Jennings is a big bruiser who has a strong frame and knows how to use his body around the rim. Truk is more of a throwback big man who does the majority of his damage around the bucket on the offensive end. On the defensive end, Jennings offers some rim protection and is a good rebounder who grabs the basketball with both hands. Truk has battled injuries over the years but if he can stay healthy from now on, he could be a top 10-12 player in the class and a likely D1 signee.

Patterson has been quiet for a little while now after bursting on to the scene last fall as one of the top players at our freshman showcase. When Peter's motor is running, he's a tremendous rebounder who can finish around the bucket but is also comfortable stepping out past the three point line and drilling shots. This winter should be a big one for Patterson and this season could re-establish him as a name to watch in the class.

Hayes has a lot of tools but has also logged a lot of miles in his short career. JD has gone from Scott County to Montgomery County to Morgan County and now back to Montgomery County. In his Sophomore season, Hayes is going to have an opportunity to play under a new coach who has experience in player development. If JD can elevate his game, he could be one of the biggest stock risers in this class over the next year.

Colven is still pretty raw in his development but he will spend his Sophomore season getting reps at the JV level more than on varsity. The GRC front court is big and loaded with size so Amburgey is going to be going up against D1 players in practice every day this winter. If he continues to work hard, Colven could emerge as a difference maker for GRC for his last two seasons.
