Burton is probably the best player in the 13th region already after a transfer from Madison Central. Grayson’s dad is the new head coach at Corbin and he brought the best transfer in the 13th region (so far).

Grayson continues to score the ball at a very high rate. Burton is an elite shooter who has grown and gotten stronger over the past year or so. Over the first live period, Grayson scored in bunches and shot the three at a high level. Long term, Grayson could be one of the best players in the class.

Burton has generated a lot of buzz this spring with Tennessee Impact and it’s in large part due to his impressive scoring ability. Burton is an elite shooter with solid positional size and Burton is un-phased by hard closeouts with his quick trigger. Burton had a couple tough buckets off pivots and pump fakes as well when the defense forced him to put the ball on the floor. Burton also scored a transition layup to take the lead with just over a minute left in the game. When Burton is able to use his frame and size defensively he does a nice job forcing tough shots and moving his feet on the perimeter is a key skill for him to show Vs other talented athletes. Expect Division I programs to get more involved this summer as Burton has already posted offers from Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State.

Burton continues to get better and better as he keeps developing into more of an all around player and not just a shooter. Grayson is smart on the court. He has the mentality of a coach’s son and you can see he knows how to pick his spots on the offensive end. On the defensive end, Burton plays with a strong motor. He’s making moves towards the top of the 2028 rankings.

A big time shooter with size, Grayson has really developed his game over the past couple of years. Burton has the size to raise up and shoot over defenders and has improved his off the bounce game to the point where he is capable of getting past defenders and finishing at the rim. Burton’s best is really good and he could actually be underrated at 8th in the class.

is shooting 42.6% from three-point range this season, connecting on 81 of his 190 attempts while averaging 2.8 makes per game. A high-level shooter who plays with confidence, Burton has a quick release, particularly in catch-and-shoot situations. He’s able to get his body and feet set quickly, even with defenders closing out hard, and consistently finds ways to get open. Burton showed his skill against North Laurel, scoring 25 points and knocking down seven threes.

Madison Central is probably the best team in Kentucky right now and the addition of Grayson has made them serious state title contenders. Burton is quietly putting together a HUGE high school career and has been starting varsity for several years at this point. Grayson is averaging 18 points per game this year and has provided a really good second or third scoring option for the Indians in their pursuit of a state title.

This was my first chance to watch Burton play in person and I left a huge fan of his game. For starters, Burton has the ultimate confidence as a shooter to take shots from well behind even the college line and he has an extremely quick release after the catch. I also was impressed by his footwork and pre catch shooting habits, allowing him to take and make contested looks over hard closeouts. A sneaky vertical athlete, Burton had a couple blocked shots at the rim. I also thought Burton showed some secondary playmaking ability with some nice passes off a live dribble. Very impressed with Madison Central as a team and Burton has fit in perfectly with a senior laden group.

The Sophomore from Richmond had a big time scoring game on Saturday as he poured in 24 points on 10/16 shooting. He also chipped in 6 rebounds, good for second on the team. There was a stretch where It seemed like Grayson did not even hit rim on a few shots. He was dialed in.

Grayson transferred to Madison Central from Knox County Central this summer and there’s a good chance that it’s the best thing possible for his development. This will be the first time in a while that Burton will not have to carry a huge offensive burden. It’s also the first time he will play for a team that doesn’t need him to score 20+ in a game to be competitive. With Coach Feldhaus, Grayson should be developed over the next 3 years and be comfortable playing the second fiddle behind Senior Jake Feldhaus Jake Feldhaus 6'8" | PF/C Madison Central | 2026 State #185 Nation KY .
