McKinney’s blend of size, strength and athleticism overwhelmed some opponents at the 16u level which led to him being an effective slasher and finisher in transition and half-court offense. The 6-foot-6 wing thrived in transition settings where he pushed the break or filled the lane and finished at the rim with authority. McKinney flashed off-catch three-point shooting ability while shooting his best percentage from behind-the-arc among all the EYBL sessions.

Terry “Trey” McKinney III finished within the top five of the entire camp in assists for the event (5.3 APG) and his team made it to the championship game with him as the leading point-forward. In a camp full of isolations, he stood out to me by the decisiveness of all the reads he made in pick & roll as the ball handler. Defensively, he was everywhere guarding all positions and ranked sixth in the camp at 2 steals per game. The Millennium SF showcased his insane athletic ability and his improved outside shot-making as well.

Terry McKinney caught just about everyone’s attention in the gym with his next-level athleticism. He was attacking the rim with purpose and threw down countless slams dunks with authority. He also leaks out at the right times and makes himself available in transition. I was a fan of his play on defense too, where he made presence felt with his length and physicality. He knows how make his matchup quite uncomfortable, and he causes turnovers that can help jumpstart the offense.

High-energy wing that thrived in transition, consistently sprinting the lanes and attacking the rim with force. Dangerous in the open court, whether grabbing the rebound and pushing it himself or filling lanes and finishing above the rim. Moved well without the ball and showed a quick first step attacking off the catch, allowing him to get into the paint before defenders could recover. Finished well through traffic and brought constant pressure around the basket as a lob threat.
