Conference Commentary
Top Ten: Breck, Minnehaha Academy
Breck not only brings back a number of pieces from their 19 win team from a year ago, they added one of the elite players in the state in Daniel Freitag Daniel Freitag 6'1" | PG Breck | 2024 State #142 Nation MN via transfer. They will be one of the deepest, most athletic, and most talented teams in all of high school basketball therefore they are the easy preseason number one pick in Class AA basketball. Minnehaha Academy lost Rolyns Aligbe to graduation plus Harrison Aligbe Harrison Aligbe 6'6" | SF Minnehaha Academy | 2025 State MN and Jerome Williams Jr Jerome Williams Jr 6'0" | PG Rock Creek Christian Academy | 2024 MD to prep school transfers. The Hawks still have Lorenzo Levy Lorenzo Levy 5'10" | PG Minnehaha Academy | 2024 State MN and several role players ready to take a step but Breck looks to have taken over as the Class AA heavyweight.
Top Ten Potential: Blake, St. Paul Academy
Blake and St. Paul Academy both have big dreams this year after having won 15 and 18 games respectively, and bringing back all of their main pieces. Both Blake and SPA have a chance to not only win 20 games but to sneak into the top ten at some point and maybe knock off one of the top two squads. There will be a lot of entertaining games in the IMAC.
Compete with Most: Mounds Park Academy
Mounds Park was winless in their league games a season ago but they do have all of their key pieces back from a team that won nine non-conference games. They should have their most competitive team in a long time.
Rebuilding: Providence Academy
Providence Academy won only six games last season and they lost a lot of their pieces to graduation.
