Ian was in full control of the paint against Waseca. With a big size advantage, Ian was demanding the ball on the block, and just bullying his way to the rim to finish. In a crowded lane he did a nice job of playing off of two feet, and gathering his balance to finish rather than just forcing the ball up because he had a height advantage. Ran the floor hard in transition, and it paid off in the second half as he threw down an alley-oop dunk off the backboard. Pulled in rebounds in bulk and was securing possession with two hands before finding one of his guards.

I really liked the toughness that Ian competed with on Sunday morning. After his team gave up 18 first half points to a 7’1 big, Ian matched up with him and was able to limit his effectiveness in the 2nd half of play. At 6’7 he showed a lot of grit to fight for position on the block, and to help limit entry passes where his size would put him at a mismatch on the block. Has a bit of an unorthodox shooting form, but when given space on the offensive end he can put points on the board with his jumper. Thought he brought some nice production to both ends of the floor despite a tough loss to Iowa United.
