Muaath had to be up there with the event leaders in steals. He’s so good at picking his moments to reach in and pick his man’s pocket, and then has the quick burst to go the length of the floor to score. Running with Real Phenom, he helped lead his team to a comfortable win over Powerhouse MN , utilizing his quickness to make plays on both ends of the floor. Defensively he can sit deep in a stance, and never seems to run out of energy pressuring opposing guards the length of the floor. Offensively he does a great job of using his frame to shield off defenders and finish at the rim against size.

Mu brings so much reliability to the table as a team’s point guard. He is a dependable ball handler, as he is unselfish while never turning the ball over. His scoring is also very efficient, always seeming to find good looks when creating. He knocked down several shots from the perimeter, never looking rushed. He worked his way to the basket as well, being able to finish through larger defenders. The junior guard scored a game-high 21 points in the opening night win over Minnesota Select .

Breck graduated their two primary ball handlers from last season, but Muaath looks ready to step up as his team’s floor general. He helped lead his team to a win over Totino-Grace in their final fall league game, utilizing his quickness to make plays on both ends of the floor. I really like the way he constantly pressures the ball defensively, and doesn’t back down from a challenge. Against a team with a pair of D1 offered guards, he was going out and working to put them under pressure. Offensively he has the quick burst to find a small gap in the defense, and get through it to get to the rim and finish.
