Robinson had the best performance at the Edmond Memorial Summer League. The 6’3″ guard had 43 points and 12 rebounds against Oklahoma Christian Academy. Mar’Quell was on fire from long range, hitting shots off the bounce and in transition. Robinson was able to walk into multiple 3-pointers, allowing himself to get hot. To compliment his great shooting from deep, he was also able to finish inside at a high rate. He loves finishing on the right side of the bucket and has a go-to hesitation move that can get him just enough separation to finish inside.

Mustang advanced with a strong offensive showing against US Grant on Saturday. This team has so many pieces that can impact any given game. The offensive versatility, skill and cohesion shown from this group is as strong as anyone left in the state. Look for the Broncos to continue to ride their most recent momentum as the game against Southmoore may approach triple digits for the winning team. Robinson was outstanding in the game against the Generals, providing 22 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals. His added length and versatility to an already deep backcourt for the Broncos can help lead this team to state. Look for his activity on defense to also be a key as he will be matched up at times with Poggi on the defensive side of the floor.

It speaks to the depth and complete roster that Mustang has that in some ways Robinson is a bit of a role player for the Broncos. It also speaks to his mindset and the college ready aspects of his game which allow him to be unselfish and impact the game while sharing the ball. Consistently touched the paint and made the right kicks to their open shooters, leading to actual assists and hockey assists. Is a vocal and active defender, playing with a chip on his shoulder. Watching Robinson mature into a well rounded defensive minded and playmaking big guard has been a very fun development this year. There’s purpose to his game, as he creates an impact that goes beyond the stat sheet.

Robinson has always been among the better athletes in the Class. Now as a junior, he’s matured in tough two way threat. Recent viewings have made evident the pride he takes on the defensive end. All while becoming more of a well rounded slasher with improved vision. On a team loaded with talent, the sparks that Robinson will give on both ends of the court will be crucial for Mustang to make their first State Tournament appearance since 2016.

Second time to watch Robinson this month and he continued his rock steady play. Plays strong and fast, while being in more control of his decision making on offense. And uniquely for a setting of a camp/tryout, he brought the clamps out on defense. Did a great job of blending his strength and moving his feet to stay with and cut off driving opponents. Even when matched up with the quickest players at the court. Robinson will be playing with a loaded high school team this winter, so his scoring production might not always be the loudest. But if he can make defense his focus on a winning squad, his impact will be louder than others with higher point totals.

Robinson is quick and strong. When he gets a step in the half court, points might as well be put on the scoreboard. Because he’s fast enough to not be caught, strong enough to not be bothered by defenders and has continued to develop into a good passer on drives. Clearly has been working on his feel for the game as a creator, as along with the drive and kicks. He had good touch passes in transition and even feeding the roll man in PNR situations. Good sign that the game is slowing down in a good way for a player who has always had outstanding physical gifts.

Powerful slashing guard, Robinson punishes defense with strong and quick drives. Leans on going right, but his good first step combined with ability to play off of two feet makes him very effective at still getting downhill and finishing the rim. He has added elevation and hang time giving him the ability to finish through contact. Or make acrobatic moves to avoid the defenders. Has flashes of being more of a playmaker. With the ability to see through waves of defenders and make the right passes out to open shooters. Like the competitiveness and toughness he plays with, should continue to develop into a complete attacking guard.

Quieter start for the sophomore, but he exploded in the second half and had some big time, dynamic drives and finishes in the second half. Earned some trips to the line on those drives too with strong and acrobatic finishes through contact. They were clutch buckets that allowed PCO to pull away and maintain their edge in the fourth. Among the top breakout candidates in the sophomore class and seems to be in a role that will play to his strengths as a slasher and scorer.

One of the more promising 405 guards, Robinson athletically fit in well among the older competition with his ability to pressure the rim and get paint touches. That was to expected based on previous viewings. What was a promising sign was him settling into more of a role of a creator. Robinson is playing with his head up on drives and played more unselfish, as evident by the assists he handed out. After a promising finish to his freshman campaign and a strong 15U summer, the sophomore is one of the top breakout candidates in the 405.

Playing up against older competition meant that Robinson couldn’t lean as heavily on his natural tools like he has in previous viewings this spring. Instead he showed a development in his playmaking skills, while still being quick and strong enough to get downhill and get paint touches. When the defense helped, he made good passes and appears to be showing the overall maturity and mentality for a sophomore year jump. The athletic and energetic youngster has a chance to mature into a dynamic playmaker. And with the Putnam City program getting a refresh with a new coach, Robinson’s ability should get the opportunity to shine this winter if the youngster continues to stacks days of improvement.
