Dominican High School started its school year on Tuesday with some familiar faces, some missing faces and some new faces. That's obviously not unusual in any sense of the word as all schools have a large batch of returnees, transfers and newcomers. But as it relates to the always-strong boys' basketball program at the Metro Classic Conference school, it's a bit out of the ordinary. The Knights begin year No. 1 under coach Marc Mitchell, a former standout player at Milwaukee Washington, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Oshkosh, with a bit of a roster shakeup and that headlines out Prep Hoops Wisconsin Transfer List 3.0 grouping.

Previous looks at transfer basketball players within the state of Wisconsin can be found at ...

Back to Dominican. The Knights lost 2029 shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2850469' first='Reed' last='McGivern'], the No. 15-ranked prospect in the state's sophomore class, as the 6-foot-1 wing opted to transfer to WIAA Division 2 power Wauwatosa West. McGivern averaged 10.4 points and 3.1 rebounds as a freshman starter for the Knights while making 67 three-point baskets in 25 games. His presence on the floor for Wauwatosa West figures to help spread the floor for University of Wisconsin recruit [player_tooltip player_id='2288469' first='Jalen' last='Brown'], a 6-foot-5 guard who can create for his teammates off the dribble, and also open the middle a bit for emerging 6-foot-6 senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2642391' first='Kason' last='Mangum']. McGivern and senior [player_tooltip player_id='2423561' first='Max' last='Gogin'] (5-10) give Wauwatosa West coach Christopher Newbauer two of the better long-distance shooters in the Greater Metro Conference.

The loss of McGivern is significant for Dominican, but the Knights also welcome a talented class of 2029 prospect in [player_tooltip player_id='3726272' first='Makhi' last='(Woo) Jackson'], a 6-foot-2 wing who transferred to Dominican after playing on the varsity squad as a freshman at Lincoln North Star High School in Lincoln, Nebraska last winter. A member of the Everything To Gain (ETG) Midwest club program out of Nebraska, Jackson is a very strong defender and a player who figures to contend for a starting role from the get-go with the Knights. Jackson joins a very strong sophomore class that also includes [player_tooltip player_id='3157915' first='Xavier' last='Smith'] (5-10) and Da'Vion Powell (6-0), both varsity players a year ago.

Of course, Dominican also returns one of the state's top seniors in 6-foot-4 guard [player_tooltip player_id='2127267' first='Zeak' last='Jones'], now entering his fourth year of varsity competition and a NCAA Division I recruit for Northern Illinois. Jones and Co. could pick up some help from a couple of additional newcomers in freshmen [player_tooltip player_id='2487743' first='Elgin' last='Cook Jr.'] (5-11) and [player_tooltip player_id='2404462' first='Jahir' last='Craig'] (5-9), a couple of key performers on the extremely talented [program_tooltip program_id='2076433' first='Kevon' last='Looney Power 5'] 14U team. Cook is the son of former Milwaukee Hamilton and Oregon star [player_tooltip player_id='2404780' first='Elgin' last='Cook'] Sr. and the grandson of former Milwaukee Bucks guard Alvin Robertson.

Elsewhere, East Troy took a major hit recently when senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2438999' first='Cameron' last='Polvi'] opted to leave the school to attend SFA Academy in Tampa, Florida for his final year of high school basketball. Polvi, a 6-foot-0 guard, was named Player of the Year in the Valley Division of the Rock Valley Conference as a junior. He averaged 15.5 points and 3.3 rebounds for a team that went 21-6 under coach Noah Phillips. East Troy is favored to win another its second straight league crown in 2026-27 behind the return of [player_tooltip player_id='2834838' first='Connor' last='Sickler'] (6-7), [player_tooltip player_id='3019783' first='Jaylen' last='Hoffman'] (6-1), [player_tooltip player_id='2635465' first='Brayden' last='Golabowski'] (6-4), [player_tooltip player_id='3019777' first='Cole' last='Pettijohn'] (6-1), [player_tooltip player_id='3019786' first='Carter' last='Swendrowski'] (5-10) [player_tooltip player_id='2919477' first='Mason' last='Phillips'] (6-1), but the loss of Polvi is definitely significant.

Milwaukee Academy of Science, which welcomes two of the top players in the state's 2030 class in 6-foot-7 [player_tooltip player_id='3683485' first='Sheldon' last='Yarbrough'] and 6-foot-0 [player_tooltip player_id='2893550' first='Michael' last='Grzesk'], will play the 2026-27 season without its top shooting guard as senior [player_tooltip player_id='2140923' first='Gavin' last='Valeri'] (6-2) announced he is leaving the state due to family circumstances and will attend St. Francis High School in Wheaton. Valeri averaged 17.5 points and led MAS in made three-point baskets as a junior.

The Eisenberg family out of Appleton will be attending a lot of games in the Fox Valley Association this winter. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='2386164' first='Ethan' last='Eisenberg'] (6-1) is a returning letter winner for Appleton North and hopes to get into the regular playing rotation for first-year coach John Nonemacher. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2386459' first='Reid' last='Eisenberg'] (6-1) attended Appleton North as a freshman and was expected to make an impact for the Lightning varsity squad in 2026-27. However, he opted to transfer to league-rival Kaukauna, joining 2029 sharpshooter [player_tooltip player_id='2402510' first='Drew' last='Bowers'], among others, to form a rock-solid backcourt combination for the next three years. Eisenberg, a skilled 2029 guard, competed with Bowers and others on the talented [program_tooltip program_id='2076027' first='Wisconsin' last='Blizzard'] 15U team this past spring and summer.

Berlin lost its entire starting lineup to graduation so coach Jeremy Mercer has plenty of holes to fill in his rotation. One of those spots could be filled by junior Julian Vaga (5-10), who transferred to Berlin over the summer from Tri-County High School. Vaga had a solid sophomore campaign for the Penguins as he averaged 7.8 points and 2.9 assists while helping his team to a 21-5 record. He figures to contend for a starting role at Berlin.

Fall River picked up a transfer from within its own league over the summer as [player_tooltip player_id='3702126' first='Lucas' last='Alvin'] left Randolph and enrolled in coach Arnie Oelke's program at Fall River.
