Gogin certainly does not lead Tosa West in any stat categories, but does a lot of great things for the Trojans. Gogin who came into this game averaging 5.7ppg, showed that he is also able to snipe threes from behind the arc. The 5’10 junior had two first half threes and finished the game with eight points. Not eye popping by any means statistically, but Gogin took a big charge in the first half, rebounds well for his size, and defends with intensity and purpose. The Trojans were without one of their starters Friday, and Gogin is more than capable of stepping up to hit perimeter shots and facilitate offense in his absence. Gogin, who competes with MTXE ,was impressive in his role as a glue guy on Friday.

Gogin is a knockdown perimeter deadeye. Max is shooting 47 3FG% with over 80 attempts. He is physical for his size/height and plays bigger than what you see on the roster. Max has been playing tough off-the-ball defense and is forcing many steals.

Sometimes, all it takes for a player to shine is playing time. Gogin has received plenty of PT for the MTXE Premier squad this spring, and the Wauwatosa West guard has responded with a big spring. A backup for Tosa West’s WIAA Division 2 state-title team as a sophomore, Gogin figures to have a strong chance of cracking the Trojans’ starting rotation next season. His competitive nature, shot-making ability and ball handling/passing skills are impressive. Teaming with another improved player in

of Catholic Memorial in the MTXE backcourt, Gogin missed a few tournaments this spring with an injury, but has returned to the lineup and played well this spring.

Gogin had sat out the past couple of weeks with an injury, but he made his presence felt in a big-time way for MTXE in its overtime loss to Chapman Basketball Academy South Black. He scored 15 points in the game and made shots from well beyond the arc. His first three baskets were all triples, but he showed after burying those distance attempts that he is improving at getting into the lane and either scoring or getting fouled and earning trips to the foul line. A key player off the bench for Wauwatosa West’s WIAA Division 2 state-title team this past winter, look for Gogin to move into the Trojans’ starting rotation as a junior.
