You better check Waterman in the half court of he’ll put up a three-point shot and swish it. And if you close out too aggressively, he’ll use a ball fake to get around you and score at the rim. Waterman’s length, speed and skill are very impressive. He size and ability to play different positions and guard different spots on the court also are assets. Like so many others his age, Waterman is still growing into his body. And once he fills out a bit more and adds some weight and strength, he’ll be even more difficult to slow down. Waterman had a strong club season with MTXE and is poised to make big contributions to a very good and very deep Catholic Memorial squad this winter.
Waterman is a versatile wing with quality length and size. Rigg is shooting an impressive 45% from the three-point arc; he has 80+ attempts this season. Obviously, this kid is a shooter! Waterman is also a lockdown perimeter defender with a gift for creating steals. Rigg is rebounding well as of late, he recently had a game with 16 boards!
Waterman had an outstanding shooting performance vs NK Legends Saturday afternoon. Worked well off the catch-and-shoot. Buried four triples in this contest including two B2B 3-pointers in each corner. Also showed he can make plays attacking the rim and as a playmaker.
Rigg is an intriguing prospect in the 2027 class as he has length at 6’4, can handle the ball well, and is a big time shooter from three. Last night running with MTXE he took over in the second half, hitting a handful of jumpers, using his length to pick up steals and get out in transition, and connecting on some clutch free throws. Showed he can break the press on his own to get his team into their offense, or play out on the wing where he was moving well to find pockets of space to catch and shoot. Nice long term potential with this 2027 prospect.
Length is always a positive on the basketball court, and when you have it while playing on the perimeter, it’s a huge added plus. Think of former Wisconsin prep standouts Tyrese Haliburton and Andrew Rohde in that regard. Waterman brings outstanding length away from the basket to the MTXE Premier lineup. He can be disruptive on defense, but he’ll need to add some weight and strength to his long frame in order to reach his potential. He figures to do just that over the next two seasons and become a really solid player for MTXE and Catholic Memorial.
