Section 7 Main Stage: The Best Guards in the Building V:2

The Main Stage featured some of the best guard play you'll find anywhere during the live period. From explosive downhill attackers and elite shot creators to floor generals who controlled the pace and made winning plays, the backcourt talent was loaded from start to finish. These are the guards who consistently stood out against high-level competition and elevated their stock throughout Section 7.    Played with good pace, creating off the dribble without ever getting sped up. He scored efficiently from the mid-range and beyond the arc, working into his pull-up with balance and rising comfortably into his jumper. Around the basket, he finished through contact with good body control and touch in traffic. Defensively, he showcased excellent recovery ability, chasing down multiple transition opportunities and pinning shot attempts against the glass. His impact was felt on both ends of the floor, combining shot creation with momentum-changing defensive plays.     Used his strong frame to make an impact on the defensive end, playing with physicality, staying connected to his matchup, and not allowing opposing guards to create easy driving angles. Offensively, he stayed shot-ready on every catch stepping into catch-and-shoot threes without hesitation. He also used dribble handoffs effectively, getting to his mid-range pull-up under control with good pace and balance.     Put his complete scoring arsenal on display against St. Mary's, confidently creating off the dribble into rhythm threes while also attacking the paint with purpose. He mixed in strong finishes at the rim with a soft, high-arcing floater, showing the ability to score over length. His versatility as a three-level scorer made him one of the more difficult backcourt matchups on the floor.     Broke defenders down off the dribble, creating separation and getting to his spots with ease. His quick burst allowed him to attack the paint, play at his own pace, and dictate the action with the ball in his hands. He scored efficiently from the mid-range and beyond the arc, rising into his jumper with balance and good lift.     Showed a quick burst off the dribble, beating defenders to the spot and attacking the paint with very few dribbles. He attacked gaps with purpose, forcing the defense to collapse before delivering timely passes to open teammates. His feel for the game and decision-making stood out, routinely making the right read and putting teammates in position to score. His combination of speed, pace, and playmaking made him a difficult matchup throughout the event.     Standing 6-foot-6 with long arms, he brought a different dimension to the guard position. He ran the offense with confidence, consistently making the right reads while keeping his team organized with the ball in his hands. He used his length and tight handle to attack the paint, finishing through contact with impressive body control around the rim. He also attacked the baseline effectively, extending around defenders and converting difficult finishes in tight spaces. His combination of size, skill, and feel made him one of the more intriguing guards on the Main Stage.     His size created matchup problems throughout the event. He scored comfortably from all three levels while using his frame to protect the basketball and play through contact. His strength and balance allowed him to maintain his driving line, absorb contact, and finish efficiently around the rim.     Orchestrated the offense with poise, taking care of the basketball and making quality decisions every time it was in his hands. His quick first step allowed him to get into the paint with ease, where he finished at the rim or delivered timely passes to open teammates once the defense rotated. He complemented his playmaking by scoring efficiently from the perimeter and the mid-range, comfortably knocking down pull-up jumpers and threes.     Moved effortlessly with the ball in his hands, creating space and getting to his spots with ease. One of the springiest guards at the event, he generated tremendous lift on his mid-range pull-up, rising comfortably over defenders and making it a go-to weapon. He attacked the basket with purpose, showing patience and making quality decisions once he got into the paint. He also knocked down perimeter threes with confidence, giving him a true three-level scoring package. For a guard, he impacted the glass at a high level, using his athleticism, timing, and instincts to come away with rebounds.     Controlled the offense with great feel, doing an excellent job creating quality touches for his post players and making the right read. His vision allowed him to keep the offense flowing while rewarding teammates in scoring position. He generated great lift on his jumper and handled the ball with ease, creating separation and changing directions without wasting movement.   Operating out of the pick-and-roll, he used screens effectively to attack the paint before finding open shooters once the defense collapsed. He also shot the three at a high level, featuring a clean, effortless release with no wasted motion and a knack for delivering timely shot-making.     Did what he does best on the defensive end, setting the tone with relentless ball pressure and making every possession difficult for opposing guards. He moved his feet well, stayed attached to his assignment, fought over screens, and never gave ball handlers a clean look or easy driving angle. His motor stood out from start to finish, and he constantly found ways to disrupt the offense with his anticipation, toughness, and willingness to compete. Even when he wasn't scoring, his defensive presence had a major impact on the game and showed why he's one of the top defensive specialists in the state.     Did what elite shot creators do—generated quality offense for himself and everyone around him, even when possessions appeared to be covered. His ability to manipulate defenders, create space, and make the right read separated him from nearly everyone on the floor. He attacked the paint with purpose before effortlessly working into his turnaround jumper, generating tremendous lift and making it one of the most difficult shots to contest. His pull-up game was on full display, and when his team needed a basket, he had an answer. The game never looked rushed in his hands, as he dictated possessions with his pace, feel, and ability to create clean scoring opportunities out of nothing.
