Aaron Villa | Prep Hoops Scout
A True point of attack defender that can guard the one through the three. Zen is a hard worker and puts his full effort in to the defensive side of the ball. He has a great low and wide defensive stance with great lateral speed and a strong build to cut off players and take bumps. He stays on his feet and is a very discipline defensive player with good timing for blocks. He is a plus rebounder for his size and will dive for lose balls and do the dirty work.

Zen brought a strong two-way presence, anchored by good on-ball defense that consistently disrupted opposing guards. He made it tough for ball handlers to get comfortable, applying steady pressure and forcing rushed decisions. In transition, Zen ran the floor well and stayed active, turning defense into offense. When attacking, he got downhill with confidence and force, putting pressure on the defense and creating opportunities.

Zen is a legit point of attack defender and overall work horse for the Pride. Zen was tasked with guarding the lead ball handler and constantly forced it out of his hands. He always attacks the boards and is a great rebounder for his size. Zen is not afraid to get down and dirty as he dives on the floor for loose balls and often creates jump balls. Zen can hit the three and attacks the rim aggressively often getting to the line. Zen had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

One of the most impressive on-ball defenders I saw all weekend. He’s a tenacious presence on that end—slides well, stays attached, and takes real pride in locking up the opposing team’s top option. You can tell he embraces those match ups and doesn’t shy away from the challenge. His defensive motor, quick feet, and ability to disrupt rhythm set the tone for his team. A true stopper who consistently made life tough for whoever he was guarding.
