Sophomore Standouts – Who Makes The List

He helped lead the Generals on a tremendous late season run, that saw them take a home a trophy at the state tournament. For sure a team to watch out for as a state title contender the next two season. His play this season supported that status, as he lead a team dealing with a ton of injury issues within a last second made 3 of the state tournament. Mitchell has shown the ability to do all of those things. His skill set was on display in the state tournament where his monster game in the quarterfinals helped the Eagles move on. Not an overwhelming athlete, Hall thrives with his basketball iq, passing, &amp; variety of fundamentally sound moves. However, the 5'8 Mills might have been their most valuable player for his ability to defend on the perimeter &amp; get the ball to the right players at the right time. Key among those is Salter, who had a great year shooting the ball &amp; helped the Pirates overcome injuries that derailed a promising season. A huge part of that increase in the win column was the play of Castaneda who earned all league honors for his efforts.
