Elite 8 - 2027 Small Guys To Watch

Like most states, the players that garner the bulk of the attention from media, college coaches, & fans play at the state's largest high schools, most of those along the I-5 corridor. We take a look at 8 rising seniors from Oregon's smallest classifications that are worth a look from college coaches this spring.    Athletic wing with great length, Schartz is best in transition & finishing around the basket. Uses his length to be disruptive on the defensive end of the floor.     Explosive combo guard, who has been somewhat an unknown growing up 4 hours from the Portland Metro area. Turned heads at this year's 3A state tourney where he lead his squad to a school best state runner up finish. Talented scorer from all three levels, college coaches will want to see him distribute the ball a little more to get an idea of how he will fit in at the next level.     Crafty point guard that does a great job of initiating offense & keeping his team organized. Has shown the ability to knock down perimeter shots at a high clip.     The talented big man, keeps getting taller & better with every passing month. Has developed into a legitimate offensive threat around the basket, while also improving as a rebounder & rim protector. Dominant big men are rare at the 2A level, will be interesting to see how he competes on the AAU circuit.     Talented scoring guard who has shown to be one of the better shooters in the class of 2027. Must show college coaches that he can guard quality players to continue to garner attention from college scouts.     The second part of Valley Catholic's talented 2027 duo, Lomber is a talented scorer that can get his shot off when needed. Very polished offensive player. His ability to demonstrate that he can physically compete against bigger & stronger players will be key for his recruitment.     No player in the state has improved more in the last 18 months than Imhoff. He's grown to 6'8, has shown improvement physically & skill wise. Big men that can play are a commodity, expect him to grab a lot of attention from college coaches this off season.     Heady point guard that has scored at a high level for his high school team. Also possesses the ability to effectively run the team & coordinate the offense. Pure point guards are becoming less & less the norm, so easy to see college coaches loving what he brings to the table.
