College Commitment – Ryder Zanon (2026 Southridge)
The Class of 2026 is slowly coming off the recruiting boards and you can add the name Ryder Zanon to the list of those who are no longer available. The skilled 6-foot-9 big man from Southridge got plenty of attention this spring and the offers were starting to roll in. But when it came down it, Zanon went with the school he felt most comfortable with both on and off the floor and this past week, announced that he would be signing with Seattle Pacific.
"They have been recruiting me since close to the start of the school year," Zanon said. "I feel like the style of play fits me well and it's a place where I'll be able to succeed. I also trust the coaching staff and they have been very honest with me and I feel like they believe in me as much as I believe in myself."
Zanon should plug right into the frontcourt plans for Falcons head coach Keffrey Fazio and his staff, who have been tracking how his game has come along his entire senior season. "I think my biggest areas of improvement are my body and on the defensive end," Zanon said. "They play through a big similarly to how i was used this year allowing me to make reads from the block and also the high post top of the key area."
It was a banner year for Zanon in 2025-26, as he helped lead Southridge to the #1 ranking while leading all of 6A in field goal percentage at just under 69 percent. Even though he only played with the Skyhawks one season, lots of memories were made that won't be forgotten.
"I think my best memory will be beating Rainer Beach at the LSI - that will be one of my best memories," Zanon said. "Also that I can compete at a high level which I did in that game along with the Sierra Canyon game and on our Arizona trip."
Our congratulations go out to Zanon and his family on his commitment.
