College Commitment – Jason Grady (2025 Westview/Winchendon-MA)
There are different paths to the college level and for Jason Grady, he felt it was best if he took another year. So after helping Westview reach the state tournament, the 6-foot-6 forward made the decision to take a prep year and attended The Winchendon School in 2025-26 and re-started his college recruitment. After a solid season further developing his body and his game, Grady is now headed back west for college as he recently made the choice to sign with Regis University in Colorado.
"My biggest factor when choosing a school was mainly about what the culture felt like," Grady said. "I was lucky enough to go visit there in late march and while I was there I got to workout with the team and be around those guys. It was a great environment of competition and growth and somewhere I would like to be. Academically it's a high level program offering a health and exercise program which I want to get into. Also it's about 10 mins from Denver, so it's in a pretty cool location."
The fit was unquestionably just right for Grady. He's excited about the opportunities ahead, and that definitely includes what he feels lies in front of him on the basketball floor. "I'm looking to make an immediate impact when I get there," Grady said. "With the 5 out system they run with a lot of off ball screens and quick transition movement I'm going to do what I do best and knock down shots."
Grady knocked down plenty of shots at Westview, where after losing his junior season to injury he stepped it up in a big way as a senior. He's satisfied with how his journey took him to the prep school route and he notes how it helped him mature both on the off the floor.
"Well off the court it allowed me to get used to being away from home," Grady said. "I got to get used to what dorm life was and what traveling to away games would be like. On the court, I was in a very high level league. On my team alone we had 6 D-I recruits. It raised my standards as well as allowing me to compete with high level talent every day."
Our congratulations go out to Grady and his family on his commitment.
