Prep Hoops Indiana Class 3A South Regional Preview

Last week there were 404 teams across four classes that began their journey to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Now, a week later, only 64 Sectional champions are still alive. That group will be cut in half once again following Saturday's Regional round. We will spend this week here at Prep Hoops Indiana previewing the upcoming Regional games. Let's dive on in and take a closer look at the Class 3A South:   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Matchups</h2>   Martinsville Regional:   Brebeuf Jesuit (18-6) vs Indianapolis Cathedral (21-5)   Greencastle Regional:   Northview (21-5) vs Indianapolis Roncalli (17-7)   Southridge Regional:   Evansville Bosse (17-8) vs Princeton (22-3)   Charlestown Regional:   Silver Creek (27-1) vs Batesville (20-4)   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Regional</h2>   • Evansville Bosse vs Princeton @ Southridge   The Evansville Bosse Bulldogs are playing their best basketball of the season at the right time. They battled through some injuries and some personal team issues, but through their struggles during the season, they were always one of the more talented teams, not only in Southwest Indiana, but in Class 3A. The Senior Backcourt Duo of 6'6 [player_tooltip player_id='1760994' first='Dorion' last='Bowen'] and 6'3” [player_tooltip player_id='2172596' first='Marrius' last='Harris'] were huge for the Bulldogs in their three sectional wins. Bowen averaged 23.7 points, including 33 points and 12 rebounds in Friday Night's win over Evansville Memorial. Harris led all scorers in the championship win over Heritage Hills on Saturday night with 22 points and 6 rebounds.   The Princeton Tigers have been the most consistent team in Southwest Indiana this season. Led by four-year varsity contributor and Indiana All-Star Candidate [player_tooltip player_id='1560964' first='Edwin' last='Holmes'] along with returning starter in 6'2” Senior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560981' first='Demarcus' last='Newson'], the Tigers steamrolled through Sectional 31 winning by an average of 21 points in their two wins. 6'1” Sophomore Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2539928' first='Quintyn' last='Voltz'] is also a game changer at the guard spot that has the talent to take over a game with his scoring and playmaking ability.   This Regional matchup is a rematch back from January 10th when Evansville Bosse defeated Princeton 60-55. [player_tooltip player_id='1760994' first='Dorion' last='Bowen'] led all scorers with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. [player_tooltip player_id='1560964' first='Edwin' last='Holmes'] led Princeton with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists.   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Under the Radar Regional</h2>   • Northview vs Indianapolis Roncalli @ Greencastle   Three consecutive sectional championships with a dominant two year stretch for the Northview Knights with a combined record of 45-8. With three guys scoring in double figures, the Knights have steamrolled through the regular season and sectionals. Sophomore Wing [player_tooltip player_id='2797123' first='Quinn' last='Lewis'] leads the Knights at 15 points and 6 rebounds per game followed by Marian Commit [player_tooltip player_id='1561022' first='Brayden' last='Goff'] at 14.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and and Junior Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2622247' first='Trayven' last='Buis'] also in double figures at 12.4 points and 3.2 assists per game.   Indianapolis Roncalli enters the Regional Round as winners of five of their last six games by an average of 17 points per game. Winning the school's first Sectional Title since the 2011, the Royals are led by the Senior Trio of 6'3” Guard [player_tooltip player_id='1989375' first='Conner' last='Kesler'], 6'9” Purdue-Northwest Forward Commit [player_tooltip player_id='2046166' first='Joe' last='Taylor'], and 6'1” Guard [player_tooltip player_id='2850399' first='Luke' last='Feldman']. Kesler leads the Royals in scoring averaging 14.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2 steals.
