Conner Kesler
About Conner
Expert Analysis
Brandon Ramsey | Prep Hoops Scout
Roncalli features three seniors averaging at least 13 points per game led by Kesler at 16.1. The athletic 6’3″ guard is making two three-point shots per game, but really excels when using his length and explosiveness to attack the rim off of the dribble. Kesler is a solid under-the-radar prospect for small college programs to continue to pursue through the rest of this season.

Kesler used a breakout junior season and strong summer to play his way onto the radar for many in-state small college programs. The 6’3″ guard averaged 12.8 points per game and made 56 three-point shots for the Royals as a junior. His athleticism in the open floor really shined on Saturday at “The Expo.” He was explosive in transition, finished well at the end of his drives, and still flashed his shooting ability as well. Look for his stock to continue to rise.

Lengthy guard that makes the game on the offensive end look easy. Capable of playing both guard spots, but is a natural coming off screens as a shooter and attacking close outs off ball reversals. Really good shooter off the catch. High release on his jumper allows him to get it off even when contested. If forced off the line, he’s patient in his attack to the basket and can stop shoot the midrange or can get all the way to the basket where he finishes well with both hands. Defensively he is sound. He stays in a stance and doesn’t gamble, but will take advantage of any of the offenses mistakes.

College coaches will want to get in the door to see this 6’3″ guard from Roncalli High School at “The Expo.” Kesler had a lot of success on the UA Rise Circuit with the Indiana Jammers in the spring and summer and looks to be a go-to piece for the Royals once again as a senior. Last season, Kesler averaged 12.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.
