We have updated our rankings for the junior class on the site (found here), with 280 total prospects listed and 38 new players in Washington DC and Maryland added into our system to reflect the impact that they have had on their team during this high school season. We had a ton of movement in this update to cover, especially in our top 10, with a new #1 and several new faces joining the elite group of DMV juniors as we gear up for AAU season. That updated top 10 can be found here. This article will cover players that our scouts are still high on long-term, even if their play didn't merit a bump in this rankings update. Let's dive in!

-Bigs usually develop later in their career and Yotter has all the signs and measurables that indicate long-term success. Yotter stands tall at 6'10, has improved his conditioning to run the floor effectively in both directions, and is taking strides as a play-finisher around the rim. Love that he is ducking in harder around the basket but timing in those duck-ins to wait til the ball has swung around the horn to his side of the floor. The state champions graduate a ton of depth in their backcourt and should be a brand new team in the fall that should rely on Yotter's skillset. If he can continue to develop his hands to come up with tougher catches in traffic, he should be an absolute force in Anne Arundel County.

-Love the versatility in Cerny's game as a wing that can do a little bit of everything for his team. Cerny can stretch the floor with his perimeter shooting, has enough quickness to attack closeouts from the wing, and gives St Mary's a ton of lineup versatility as a player that can slot in anywhere from shooting guard to small ball 4. Cerny doesn't need a ton of touches to be effective as he generates his own with offensive rebounds and well-timed cuts to the rim from the corner or wing.

-Hogg came on strong at the end of the season, scoring 20+ multiple times down the stretch run of the season with a mix of perimeter jumpers, drives to the rim, and free throws. The son of a long-time youth coach, Hogg understands when he needs to move the ball and when he needs to call for a ball screen to create an advantage situation for his team. His scoring craft and bag of pivot moves in the paint allow him to maneuver around bigs to score with short jumpers from either side of the lane.

-Anthony had an up and down high school season but has looked great in offseason workouts and AAU tryouts over the past few weeks to show his long term upside as an energy big. Anthony ran the floor hard, turned the corner on forwards to slash downhill much more frequently, rotated well on the back line to block or challenge shots, and posterized a few defenders with one-handed dunks. Anthony already holds a scholarship offer from Navy and should collect a few more suitors this summer with consistent production at both ends of the floor.

-Purnell's stock remained mostly the same in a junior year that was sidelined by minor injuries in new threads with Mt Zion Prep. Purnell is a strong scoring guard that can create his own shot from either elbow, bully his way to the rim, and rebound the basketball well for his position. With his size, quickness, and frame- he has the upside to develop into a tough-nosed POA defender that is difficult to screen at the top of the key.

-Obayande didn't compete for the bulk of the season, but he's flashed some nice 2-way upside in AAU tryouts over the last two weeks. Obayande has really worked on his body, handle, and speed in the open floor to develop into a 2-way wing that can put pressure on the rim. The leaping ability, speed, and strong upper body shift his projection from a small ball center to a much more dynamic wing. His AAU team selection could really lead to a boon in his recruitment this summer.

-Bancroft contributed on a much more consistent level this season as a wing that can guard up or down a position while spacing the floor with his perimeter shooting. With several key backcourt and wing rotation players graduating this offseason, Bancroft possesses the positional size to earn a scholarship over the next 18 months with the increased opportunity.

-Rhinehart should step into an increased role with John Carroll this season as a steady play-making point guard that consistently makes the right play. Rhinehart caught our eye as a playmaker with Thrill MHC that makes quick reads in side ball screen actions but is capable of knocking down shots off the ball as well. Love the development in his in-between game this season as Rhinehart is hitting stepbacks, banking in floaters, and pivoting around defenders to score with either hand.
