1. Meade

Class 4A

A true contender to hoist the Class 4A title at UMBC, the Mustangs enter as Anne Arundel County champs, a 22-1 overall record and arguably the best public school player in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='2575614' first='Keon' last='Scott']. Aside from the dynamic lead guard, 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2453744' first='Arouna' last='Soumaoro'], [player_tooltip player_id='2962366' first='Obi' last='Mensah'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2987203' first='Jayvon' last='Thomas'] make up for a large amount of the team's overall production. They'll play Severn Run in the second round before a potential rematch in the of the AA County title game against Severna Park, the same team who handed the Mustangs their only loss of the season, in the Sweet 16.

2. Severna Park

Class 4A

The Falcons are an extremely dangerous team in this sort of setting due to their disciplined style of play, precision from long-range and the ability to play in a slowed tempo fashion. 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='3473851' first='Garrett' last='Moden'] is the experienced, savvy point guard controlling the show while 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='3473848' first='Blake' last='Coard'] lets it fly from deep. 2027 duo of [player_tooltip player_id='2847242' first='John' last='Batty'] and [player_tooltip player_id='3474137' first='Xavier' last='Marshall'] have come up big when needed as scoring threats while 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='3473971' first='Dash' last='Havens'] embraces the utility role at the highest of levels in the public school sector, which any championship potential team needs.

3. South River

Class 3A

Another AA County power, South River leans on Northwestern football commit, [player_tooltip player_id='2343207' first='Jaden' last='McDuffie'], as their engine and the senior leader embraces the responsibility with shining colors. The Seahawks enter state tournament play with a 16-7 overall record and will host Stephen Decatur in the second round after enjoying a first-round bye. Other seniors such as [player_tooltip player_id='2453729' first='Jonah' last='Hall'], [player_tooltip player_id='2575608' first='Jamie' last='Finn'] and junior big man Nick Yotter will be important pieces to their potential championship puzzle. A win over Decatur could set up a potential matchup against county foe Old Mill in a Sweet 16 game.

4. Old Mill

Class 3A

As mentioned above, if Old Mill takes care of business in their second-round game against James M. Bennett, they'll advance to the Sweet 16 and potentially meet South River. The Patriots are 15-5 and will rely on their guard play from the trio of 2026 prospects in Vernon Greer, Bryce Daugherty and Makel Wilder to match the other talented guards within their 3A bracket.

5. Southern

Class 2A

Head coach Will Maynard's group finished with an 18-6 overall record, which resulted in a bye in the first round as they're set to meet Glenelg on Monday. The 2027 trio of [player_tooltip player_id='2454551' first='Daniel' last='Lewis'], [player_tooltip player_id='2634277' first='Landon' last='Kidd'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2623243' first='Bryson' last='Mims'] have been on the radar while seniors in Joey Bonincontri, Wyatt Brady and Josh Howell bring the experience and senior leadership. 2028s in [player_tooltip player_id='3041534' first='Myles' last='Brice'], [player_tooltip player_id='2524425' first='Myles' last='Money'] and Bradie Jackson have had their flashes throughout the season and look to gain further momentum for the spring/summer with a deep run.
