Batty made a strong impression on me when I caught him late this season help lead Severna Park to a win over Meade and hand the Mustangs their first loss of the season. A 6-foot-5 hybrid forward that had to log much of his time at the five, Batty is a high-IQ connector with shot-making prowess from deep and in the mid-range. He’s a guy that will thrive in a system whether it’s heavily structured or more of a read-and-react type of scheme with limited dribbles. He moves well without the ball and understands when to break cuts off to flash to open spots where he can quickly catch, turn and get into his shot with great balance. His release is high, quick and fluid. Defensively, he uses his wingspan to take up space and showed effective tracing on misses to quick snag rebounds at their peak.
