Flyin’ To the Hoop – Ramsey’s Sunday Standouts

We are lucky to have several here in the state of Indiana, but one I consistently cross the border for is Flyin' To The Hoop. This outstanding event, now in its 23rd year, features 18 games across four days. It is hard to find an event with a great pool of talent both in terms of teams and individual prospects. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage on Sunday afternoon for St. Vincent-St. Mary (OH) versus Moeller (OH) and Lakota West (OH) versus La Lumiere (IN). We will be back for a few games on Monday as well. The 6'5"-6'6" unsigned senior forward was very effective around the basket finishing with 18 points to lead all scorers. He has excellent positional size in the backcourt, is incredibly efficient from the floor, and rebounds his position at a high-level. Curry poured in 24 points on impressive 9-11, 4-4, 2-2 shooting splits while also pulling down 8 rebounds. The 6'3" guard, who is also a standout on the gridiron, is one of the best athletes in the freshman class nationally. Reynolds showed the ability to step out to the perimeter as a catch-and-shoot threat while having the size and athleticism to compete off of the dribble. He finished with 11 points and 4 rebounds in the Irish's 46-42 win over Moeller. Then, in the second, he took over in a scoring roll. The Notre Dame signee scored 10 points each in the third and fourth quarters to ultimately help lift La Lumiere to a 72-71 overtime victory against Lakota West. Dayton head coach Anthony Grant along with an assistant from Ohio State were in attendance to see the explosive 6'2" guard score a game-high 28 points for Lakota West in their hard-fought 72-71 overtime loss to La Lumiere.
