Logan’s Under the Radar Standouts | Run N’ Slam Edition

Wrapping up one of the biggest annual Midwest Tournaments, every game has it stars. The nationally ranked recruits that get all the buzz. The big time programs with rich history in the name. But every game has guys that know their roles and impact winning that don't necessarily get the press they deserve. Here are Logan's Under the Radar Standouts from the Bill Hensley Memorial Run N' Slam:    As solid as they come from the true point guard position. [player_tooltip player_id='2622247' first='Trayven' last='Buis'] did an excellent job all weekend balancing his scoring looks with facilitating for his teammates. Crafty with the ball in his hands. Has the ability to get to his spot off the dribble in one on one situations while also being really good playing the pick and roll game. Showed a nice touch on his floater and midrange game while also knocking down shots from the perimeter.     The strong framed guard out Whiteland may not always be the leading scorer, but the impact he has on games may not always show up in the stat sheet. His ability to guard multiple positions while still being a top notch rebounder at the guard spot doesn't go unnoticed. Offensively, he makes the winning play without forcing the issue. There are times when I watch him where I wish he was more aggressive getting to the basket, but he's the ultimate team guy that looks to get everybody involved. His unselfish nature leads him to making the right play. He's a confident shooter with good elevation. Love his ability to get downhill and be able to take bumps and stay on balance. Take his open opportunities and live with the results. He does a lot of good things on the floor.     An already potential stock riser in the freshman class, the 6'5” Wing out of Evansville Mater Dei showed his shooting ability all weekend long. Showcased a clean stroke with good elevation off the catch, he knocked down several big shots for Progenny UAA 2029. Also showed his playmaking and athleticism putting the ball on the floor and driving in for a dunk. He's an intriguing piece in the 2029 class that impacts winning. Really good team defender with his length and athleticism in passing lanes as well as with his switchability. Big time rebounder for his position that plays well in the open floor off the dribble or as a shooter in the corner.     A really intriguing wing that is an absolute terror on the defensive side of the ball. Long and athletic wing that guards multiple positions. Really good in passing lanes as well as rebounding his position. Really good in transition. Straight downhill driver that's able to finish ina variety of different ways. Capable three-point shooter off the catch, but thrives on getting to the basket. Also shown some intriguing court vision. Ability to play with the ball in his hands and make good reads.     Really like the skill and versatility I saw out [player_tooltip player_id='2560632' first='Isaac' last='Garner'] this weekend. Wired to score with good athleticism and plays at his own pace. Doesn't force the issue. Takes what the defense gives him and does it efficiently. Really nice three-point shooter with good range and clean stroke. Also showed the ability to get his midrange pull-up. Knocked down several contested jumpers with a soft touch. Quality defender that always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Pushes the pace on misses well playing with his eyes up. His versatility is a handful for teams to match up with and will continue to a scoring threat from all over the floor.     Lengthy 6'6” wing/forward that can impact the game without scoring. Fluid athlete that defends and rebounds at a high level. Really nice skill that can push the break and make good decisions with the ball in his hands. Good shooter off the catch that has shown the ability to drive close outs. Had a really nice freshman season and has continued his strong play into the spring. He's a high IQ player that makes winning plays on both ends.     High IQ guard that plays with a versatility. [player_tooltip player_id='2414734' first='Will' last='Hegwood'] is comfortable playing on and off the ball. He plays with physicality on his drive while being able to stay on balance and under control. Really good shooter that made big shots all weekend. Shoots with confidence having an effortless release. Has had a really nice start to the spring and will continue to play well for Team Tradition 2027.     A player that may not be “under the radar” for much longer, [player_tooltip player_id='2907634' first='Corde' last='Hill'] straight up balled out this weekend for [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana']. In the games I got to see, Hill was scoring at an efficient rate from all over the floor. Shot the ball well from the perimeter hitting four 3's in one of [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana']'s games this weekend. Was really good off the bounce scoring at the rim while also taking what the defense gave him and knocking down midrange jumpers. Where he can be the biggest game changer is on the defensive end where he was spectacular on the ball. Plays with active hands and plays without fouling while pressuring the ball. Will continue to be a name to keep an eye on.     A skilled forward that can do a lot of different things on the floor. Really good rebounder for only 6'2”. Strong frame that allows him to guard bigger players on the block. Really good in transition with the ball in his hands. Nice court vision and playmaking skills. Plays well out of the mid-post area. Can punish smaller defenders on the block while taking bigger defenders to the perimeter and using his guard like skills to get to his spot. Capable shooter that knocked down a few catch and shoot 3's over the weekend. Thrives off his versatility to make up for not being the quickest or most athletic player.     Pippins is a player I got to see several times throughout the high school season and loved the potential that he showed. This weekend he was a breakout performer showing his ability to use his length and athleticism to be a threat on both ends of the floor. Big time rebounder and shot blocker, he also showed his mobility by switching on the perimeter and containing smaller matchups. Still a bit raw offensively but showed improvement with his footwork and soft touch around the basket. Had several nice post moves into jump hooks over his left shoulder. Also showed his ability as a lob threat. Good hands that can go up and get the ball at its highest points. Plays with a lot of power underneath and should continue to be a tough matchup down low.     This was his first weekend playing with Progeny 17u and [player_tooltip player_id='2438889' first='Kamari' last='Roberts'] jumped right into the action and impacted the game on both ends of the floor. True point guard that plays at his own pace. Thrives on getting downhill where he showed many times he can finish among the trees in a variety of different ways. Confident three-point shooter that can get into his shot quick. Really good in the pick and roll. Able to make essentially any pass on the floor. He was a pest defensively picking up full court and was able to create turnovers with his active hands and quickness.
