One of the top AAU events of the spring took place over this past weekend with the 2026 Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground all weekend long and we were able to check out some of the top prospects and teams from the state when it comes to the grassroots programs. As we start to recap all the players that we had a chance to get eyes on, here is part 2 of 5 of my player standouts and notebook.

When it comes to under-the-radar prospects that I got a chance to watch over weekend, one of the best ones I felt was [player_tooltip player_id='2907634' first='Corde' last='Hill'] of Crispus Attucks. Running with [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana'] 2027, Hill is a twitchy guard that has really good length in the backcourt. Hit a few tough mid-range jumpers off some shifty moves and his passing was really impressive. Athletic and long enough to compete on the defensive end as well.

One of the top prospects in the Indiana class of 2028 that I was able to get eyes on was [player_tooltip player_id='2560351' first='Chandon' last='Gilbert'] of Lawrence North HS. Coming off the bench for [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 16u, he right away impressed with his willingness to defend when the rest of the [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] team struggled on that end. Gilbert is a long, athletic prospects that can be a problem in the lane and around the basket. Has all the physical tools you want out of a high-end wing.

A under-the-radar guard that I had a chance to watch on Saturday afternoon was [player_tooltip player_id='2140378' first='Jack' last='Van Order'] out of Carroll HS. Van Order runs with [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 17u-Red and is most of the times the guard that gets things going for them. Super aggressive on the attack with a strong first step from the perimeter. Really like his length and willingness to compete in the backcourt.

One of the toughest and dynamic guards that I was able to get eyes on over the weekend at Run N Slam was [player_tooltip player_id='2140383' first='Jake' last='Grissom']. Coming out of Guerin Catholic HS, Grissom runs with the very talented UNRNKD 17U ECYL team and just brings a ton of energy in the backcourt for them. He is a quick, scrappy guard that has a first step that will blow past the defense and he will use his underrated athletic ability to try make a play at the rim. He is a play to keep an eye on the rest of the AAU season.

One of the best pure shooters that I had a chance to get eyes on over the weekend was [player_tooltip player_id='2297505' first='Jaece' last='Vogt'] of West Lafayette HS. Vogt is a super long wing with one of the smoothest shooting strokes you will find in his age group. He does a good job of finding the open spot behind the arc and always have his hands ready to get a shot off. Just a super consistent outside threat.
