One of the top AAU events of the spring took place over this past weekend with the 2026 Bill Hensley Memorial Run N Slam. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground all weekend long and we were able to check out some of the top prospects and teams from the state when it comes to the grassroots programs. As we start to recap all the players that we had a chance to get eyes on, here is part 3 of 5 of my player standouts and notebook.

One of the better big man prospects that I had a chance to see this weekend was [player_tooltip player_id='2140443' first='Tait' last='Wetzel'] of Heritage Hills HS. Wetzel runs with [program_tooltip program_id='2400000' first='Indiana' last='Elite Team Indiana'] 2027 and is one of the more skilled big men you will find at that level. He did a great job in post-up actions being aggressive at the defense and drawing the contact to get him to the line. He is also a big that can stretch it a little as well.

One of the players that I thought defined the phrase "head of the snake" the best was [player_tooltip player_id='2140368' first='Griffin' last='Ott-Large'] of Indiana Gas UA Rise. Ott-Large is a guard that loves to penetrate the lane and try to get to the rim on the attack. Not only was an aggressive attacking guard, he showed his ability to create his outside jumper on the ball a little bit. He was a positive note for [program_tooltip program_id='2075551' first='Indiana' last='Game'] in the tough loss I saw of theirs.

Perhaps the best guard that I watched all weekend was [program_tooltip program_id='2076927' first='Indy' last='Heat'] 17U's [player_tooltip player_id='2194328' first='Jahari' last='Miller']. We all knew how great of junior season Miller had at Pike, but it is safe to say that Miller may be playing a whole new level in the spring right now. He has developed an ability to flat out take over a game and has showcased himself to be one of the more skilled guards at a national level. Fantastic weekend for the 2027 four-star guard.

A rising guard in the 2027 Indiana class is [player_tooltip player_id='2140341' first='Cash' last='Daniels'] of Carmel HS, and he proved that over the weekend at Run N Slam. Although he struggled to connect on a. few bunnies and jumpers, there was not a better guard I thought I saw in the open space than Daniels this past weekend. He is such a quick, dynamic guard that can do a little bit of everyone on the ball. Could be the state's breakout player this spring.

There was not a more physically imposing prospect that I saw over the weekend at Run N Slam than Jarret Harris. Running with Progeny 16U, Harris was a consistent force at the rim and was always trying to be a lob threat. Although he is at his best being an athletic, powerful player, he showed a little bit of jumper as well. Already has the physical tools and could be developing his skills long term as we speak.
