This was a highly anticipated season for Archie, as I feel that he was already on the cusp of popping onto Division I radars with his summer, and he did garner some attention from coaches. But what they will be able to come back to after the first week of the season should have him firmly on more radars. He's putting up 29.7 points a game through 3 games. His usage has gone up, confidence has risen, and with that, his athleticism has looked better than it ever has with dunks in transition and traffic. He's shooting the 3-ball, handling the ball, and making the right decisions and its almost time to have some uncomfortable conversations about where he stands in the state after what he's done to begin his junior season. He's the top player in the conference and has Rangeview looking like they could run the table.

[player_tooltip player_id='1622346' first='Judah' last='Michael'], take a bow. What a start to the year for him, and the performance that he had against Thunder Ridge had to be the top performance so far. He's putting up 28 points a game through the first two contest, and he had an impressive game of 39 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals, and a win in the marquee matchup of two of the state's top bigs. He had 5 made 3 pointers and proved to be a mismatch in every game, but a game like that gets your confidence going. Michael had a solid summer where he showed out, and is ready to cap off a stellar career with a big push. Michael is a prospect that I feel should be on PLENTY more radars. He's the No.2 prospect in the class, and with him playing like this and putting the team on his back, he has an argument as the top dog if he can keep this up. We'll continue to watch him this year and expect a HUGE season from him.

Duncan had a glow-up this summer, after already having an incredible freshman season. He comes in as the No.1 sophomore in the entire state, and what's even scarier is that he continues to get better. Rangeview is one of the favorites this season, and Marceles is a big reason why. He brings the defensive identity and toughness to this group and also has looked to expand his game. He's now shooting the 3-ball and has been consistently knocking those down while still being undeniable inside and at the rim. Caught a couple of bodies as well. He's averaging 16.7 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 boards through three games. He's the engine of the team and allows them to be multidimensional. He comes in at the No.3 player in the conference, but could very well be the most valuable.

Shepherd is a player who just looks different than almost every single player in the state. It almost doesn't look right. He's a poised and polished player who plays at his own pace. He understands time and possession, and a lot of his work is done early. He moves without the ball, extends defenses with his outside shot, and shines with the ball in his hands. The next step is being more aggressive, as South benefits from his attacking a bit more. South dropped two close games, and that possibly changes with him being in attack-mode. He's capable of some huge games, but we want them to come consistently. We see a player in Brody that has a chance to rise even more, and think he has a big season ahead of him. He comes in at the No.4 player in the conference.

Perez is a player who is oozing with potential, and we want him to fulfill it. He has all of the intangibles to be one of the top players in the entire state, and we want the consistency to back it. Perez has good size, is a long and versatile defender who can affect the game in every single way. He can score from all 3 levels, and that separates him. Although he's one of Rangeview's top players, he's also possibly the biggest X-factor in the conference. If he plays well, they win it all. To start the year, he has been off to a decent start, and they have not needed him to go to another level for them to turn that into wins. That will change as they play some of the top teams. We want to see him bring it in all settings and show himself as the team's catalyst. He's the No. 5 player in the conference and is a swing piece.

Adkins got approved to play this season, and that put East as one of the teams that could contend to win the conference. But with that comes a great responsibility that he must fulfill. Adkins has gotten off to a rocky start to the season, but has started to look more like himself in each passing game. East will need him to be great if they want to make a deep push. He's looked more comfortable as he's impacted the game in different ways. He's coming off his best offensive game as he put up 17 points and knocked down 4 3-pointers. What I like about Adkins' game is how he finds a way to impact the game in ways that are not only scoring. He's leading the conference in assists, has notched at least 2 steals in each game, and fills up the box score. He'll need to continue to lean on those things and be more aggressive on both ends of the floor for East to have a chance. He comes in at the No. 6 player in the conference and is an integral piece to the team.

Lemieux has been highly regarded as one of the top shooters in the class, and he had those moments this summer and at various showcases. Now that the high school season has started, he has not been shooting the ball as well, so it is about doing other things to impact the game. East is going to need him to be better if they want to make a deep push. He may have to be the team's best rebounder and hone in on that skill, playmaking when he has the ball, while moving without the ball for easy scoring opportunities, and consistently put it together. He does look as if he's taken a step defensively, and that has been noted, but now it is time to get back to being a two-way option that puts fear in opposing teams. He rounds out the top 7 players in the conference.
