Toughest Sectional: Sectional 42 @ Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter High School

Class 2A South is a little more open as far as teams that could come out of it and make it to Indianapolis next year. There are plenty of tough Sectional fields down south, but perhaps the toughest one comes over at Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter High School with Sectional 42. Realistically, there are three teams that could make it out of Sectional 42 being host school Cardinal Ritter led by junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='3068383' first='Devin' last='Bolden'], Park Tudor who brings back a solid core of guys, and the team that can came so close to winning it all last season, contender University. If those three teams aren't enough, both Covenant Christian and Riverside are coming off season that saw them win ove half of their games so they could sneak in there as well. On paper, this group brings in the most pure talent out of any Sectional group in Class 2A South. Expect this one to be a dog fight once we get to the postseason.

State Title Contenders

University: There are very few teams in the entire state that legitimately have a chance to make it to the state finals in back-to-back years and one them just so happens to out of Class 2A South. The University Trailblazers are a team on a mission and have been since they lost to Manchester in the Class 2A State Championship last season. For University, they return five of their top seven scores from last season's team. There are a very experienced group with [player_tooltip player_id='1282878' first='Blake' last='Gray'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2630646' first='Faisal' last='Mohamud'] returning as the senior leaders. They also added Indianapolis Metropolitan transfer guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560954' first='Josh' last='McGee'] to their backcourt and one of the top emerging prospects in the whole state in junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2887162' first='Joshua' last='Henderson']. University has all the tools to make it back to Indianapolis this upcoming season.

Parke Heritage: A team that many are claiming as one of the top favorites in Class 2A South to make to the State Finals this season is the Parke Heritage Wolves. When you have the best duo in the Class of 2A, making a deep run in the postseason is very likely. Indiana Junior All-Star [player_tooltip player_id='1560965' first='Treigh' last='Schelsky'] is back as the main man in the backcourt as well as his big man in senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2272232' first='Isaac' last='Pickel']. They also have a rising junior forward in [player_tooltip player_id='2140339' first='Carter' last='Crum'] as well that will take a lot of pressure off of Schelsky and Pickel. They have won three straight Regional Championships and reached back-to-back Final Fours and will be looking to get to State this upcoming season.

Scecina Memorial: A truly under-the-radar contender this season are the Scecina Memorial Crusaders. The only went 10-15 last season but did end the year on a strong note by reaching the Sectional 43 Championship to build momentum heading into this year. They return 5 of their top 7 scorers from last season including 2028 standout wing [player_tooltip player_id='2617866' first='Jaylin' last='Foster'], junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2272817' first='Adrian' last='Hill'], senior wing Caleb Davis, and many more. Additions of [player_tooltip player_id='2477113' first='Bryce' last='Mathis'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2881715' first='Boomer' last='Minch'] will certainly help as well. A sneaky contender in Class 2A South.

Centerville: The Centerville Bulldogs are looking to finally get over that hump and make it to the Class 2A State Finals and luckily for them, they have the group to do so this season. The big thing for the Bulldogs is they get back a fully healthy senior small forward in [player_tooltip player_id='1738825' first='Shea' last='Hollendonner'] who brings back 15.0 points in just 10 games last season. His younger brother [player_tooltip player_id='2617854' first='Jace' last='Hollendonner'] is also back to continue his rise as well as [player_tooltip player_id='1738828' first='Landyn' last='Keiser'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1738827' first='Ethan' last='Vecera'] playing important roles for them this season. Centerville has a legit chance to reach their number one goal this year.
